Kangal, 01 May 2019If anything it highlights the market's desire for a long-te... moreLol. Normal sized phones sell better than their phablet counterparts however the manufacturers force the latter, and yet people propose making more phablets...

Walter C. Dornez, 01 May 2019Nah, the people don't seem to care either way what they rem... moreA shame really, since when Steve Jobs release the original iPhone in 2007, he surveyed people who wanted the phone but decided not to buy it as it's because: "too expensive", at 56% of the responses. So he released the iPhone 3G at $199, down from $399 for the base 8GB model and it sold like hotcakes.

Add back the headphone jack, drop the price to a sub-$500 mark and Apple will lose a HUGE portion of its margins, but in the long run they'll make back their profits and can confidently boast sales numbers again. Investors love big numbers.

What Apple is doing now, locking existing customers into an expensive and unescapable ecosystem, is the most common reason why MMOs and freemuim mobile games shut down.

Kangal, 01 May 2019If anything it highlights the market's desire for a long-te... moreNah, the people don't seem to care either way what they remove. In the end, it's the price. Apple seems to sell well with devices priced in 600 and 850. Just look at the XR and now the X

Kangal, 01 May 2019If anything it highlights the market's desire for a long-te... moreYup "Apple doesn't want to make more profits", you're a genius sir. Lol

Note7 owner, 01 May 2019Once again Apple knows exactly what they are doing and ever... moreIf anything it highlights the market's desire for a long-term and secure device (iOS). It also shows that most people want a large screen but small bezels and no stupid notch (think S8+ form-factor), but a price-point not higher than the iPhone 7.

If Apple made such a move it would greatly eat into their profit margins, down from 120% to perhaps 60%, but overall a move like that would cause a significant spike in profits and revenue.

Apple clearly don't want to increase their profits, which is why they carry on making their devices more anti-consumer each generation (price increases, restrained battery life, pointless extra cameras, inconvenient FaceID, no headphone jack, worse audio quality, more fragile construction, increased parts and service costs, more and more hostile AppStore practices, etc etc).

A pointless comparison. iOS phone sales are only going to be the 3 new iPhones, boosting their individual sales numbers wheras there are hundreds of very popular android phones released every quarter. The real comparison should be iOS devices Vs android devices sold in a year.

Once again Apple knows exactly what they are doing and everyone else is just following along.

Chinese people have so great devices, great prices,to many different models, but many still want iPhone.I can't understand that. Probably they suffer of prestige in society.
