I switch to Huawei from Samsung. The price for the S10 is just ridiculous. Im currently using the Mate 20 and doesn't regret from switching. My whole family will be using Huawei as soon they need a new phone. I will not pay $1000 for an IPhone or S10

I think Haiwei is still moving higher based on their new quality brands low price compaired to Apple and Samsung.

Mr. Fluxy, 02 May 2019Huawei has a very aggressive marketing strategy in western ... morei dunno abt that but as far as my experience with a huawei device, they actually lived up to my expectations. for my part, they delivered what they promise so i wont call it false marketing, agressive maybe. cheat on benchmarks? duhh, as if other brands are squeky clean on this stuff. and for better value for the price? , i think huawei has honor for that. and even with their flagship, i still think they offer a lil more value that other premium brands especially here in our country where they sell their flasghips cheaper than samsung and apple.

to me samsung can close its mobile phone bussiness noone will mourn for their very expensive devices with mediocre to poor quality such as fold.

Xiaomi released an announcement confirming Counterpoint's estimate regarding their own smartphone shipments.

This means that IDCs estimate of 25mn was off by a fairly significant margin.

That announcement can be viewed here: http://iis.aastocks.com/20190502/003487555-0.PDF

Huawei has a very aggressive marketing strategy in western countries. They don`t offer better value for the price than Xiaomi and they innovate less than Oppo. This is the reason why they are not leading the Chinese market.

But they falsely advertise their stuff, cheat a lot on benchmarks and camera samples and because they offer "those benefits" for less than other more established brands they sell more phones. Simple as that.

I think there should be more severe punishments for false advertisement, a lot of companies should pay top dollars for deceiving people, but fckn lawyers always find a way around the law.

See Apple, Huawei is innovating and you deserve to be beaten.

Its really not a big surprise at all... Well done Huawei.
                            Keep up the good work.

Hannu, 01 May 2019Where are small smartphones? No smartphone fits my pocket i... moreWe're getting there bro, right now we're in what I'd call a hangover from 2018 where manufacturers thought that people want those giantic 6++" paddles, and while it still may be true in Indian/Chinese market, people in west start hating them and so the manufacters slowly adapt... Unfortunately it's still mostly low-rangers (like Huawei Y5 or Galaxy A20e) or the flagships (like S10e... Also a fairly recent Pixel 3 is quite compact as well), but I believe at time goes by we will see more and more compact phones across the budget spectrum.

The massive success of S10e in western market should definitely help, too - until now the manufacturers were fairly wary of reducing the size too much (when we get a "compact" phone it means the size is going under 150mm which is still quite too large), but seeing how highly people value the compact size of S10e should give green light to those aiming at western markets.
