Weekly poll results: 5G unlikely to explode this year, as network coverage remains limited

05 May 2019
The votes are in and most of you are okay with staying on 4G until network coverage expands.

My fears are also radiation related. This much connectivity can't come magically. I also hearda rumour that a bird fell down in 5G testing.

Plus, in India at least, the telecom is all about fooling people with high speed claims.

What maximum speed does 4G claim? What, 300 mbps something, right? Even carriers themselves claim 150 mbps on their bundled dongles (Case in ref.:- Jio).

The best I've seen practically is 50 mbps at 3AM in the morning, with very less users on the network.

So, you can say that 5G will give a practical 50 mbps for most of the day and it may go up to 200-300 mbps at times. All within reach of 4G, but only if companies listen and invest more in 4G, which is the cheapest network overall.

I voted for 5G. Embrace the future.

5G is in early stage, I could understand that, but it will soon to be the most important part of our daily life. Get over it and move on to 5G phones now.

No 5G for now unless Apple releases 5G phone

If only the S10 5G size is equal that of the S10+ it would be perfect...

These days all manufacturers think the bigger the phone the better which is wrong...Not everyone wants a tablet in their pockets...

Any phone that's bigger than the S10+ is DOA coz they cost too much and are way heavy and bigger...

5G weak point is it requires more antennas in the phone and a lot of base stations... while 4G can cover huge area with a single base station
