Samsung is working on an under-display camera solution, aiming for the coveted all-display phone design

04 May 2019
Apparently the new tech will share quite a few similarities with under-display fingerprint readers.

Someone finally thought of fixing the "parallax issue" (don't know the technical term for it) during video calling : you should know, you are never looking at the person directly on their handset if you are looking at their faces on your screen. AGREE?

Between fold and X the poll is only regarding looks, and yes it has a cleaner look. We have no idea how either of these devices will perform though so a beauty poll means nothing. As for "so many devices were defected they rather abaddon the project" the note had between 40 - 50 confirmed defective units. Very few. In the last 2 years there have been more confirmed cases of iphone and ipad batteries catching fire. Also the project was continued as the Note FE which can still be purchased. It was a good business decision to pull it due only to media sensation and pr not the product, that is the down side of our connected world and human nature to perpetuate negative news and experience.

I had one and I was completely satisfied with that which I replaced with hTC EVO 3D. Either you had a specific bad product or you are just comparing with recent smartphone or or you have a very bad judgement.

Samsung did a good try. But such a good try did Nokia with their 9 pureview.
At least Nokia is wekll working device even with SD845 where Fold has been cancelled for some time until the Samsung fixes its problems or cancell it permanently such as Note 7.
Because even a battery should be swapped for another battery and the production should go on.
But because so many devices were defected they rather abaddon the project.

this will be difficult to implement as even transparent oleds still has a bit of haze to it when the screen is totally off to the point that it is rather translucent.

AnonD-731363, 06 May 2019I dont know how the in display fingerprint scaners is conne... moreThe ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is developed by Qualcom, and it works fine if you take the time to set it up properly and don't hold your finger against it until unlock. That last point could be solved with a on screen prompt every now and again. As for the fold saying the echo was first with it's segmented display and lack of customized software is disingenuous. Does the Samsung fold have some design flaws, yes. However it is the most ambitious folding display phone to be marketed, and as a concept has the best execution of design with multiple displays, and protecting the softer material inside the fold. Will they end up having the top phone, that is yet to be seen. But viewed purely objectively it is because of Samsung we have many features that are now considered standard or necessary in modern smart devices.
