One of many reasons i dont like Samsung devices.
But even a Samsung device i would rather buy over Iphone.
Literrary anything is better even android go i would love more than IOS.
IOS just cant cooperate. Without things as Itunes or Siri or many else nothing is possible.
You cant connect your phone to your laptop because IOS doesnt work with anything else just another IOS which is plain thievery.
Last 8 years i had only china made phones such as Huawei Lenovo and Motorola and was completely satisfied.
Pure android on my current Moto X4 is something which i cant even mark with money.

AnonD-731363, 09 May 2019Still android is much better than IOS will ever be. I thought so myself. I was so hyped about it that I bought a new 750€ S9 plus. After just 6 months of usage, the smart guys at Samsung decided to roll out the update to Android 9.0 (it was in January 2019). Other manufacturers were receiving their Android 9.0 update since October 2018 (example One Plus or Sony, even some Xiaomi devices were in font of Samsung). But I said to myself, if they are working so hard and long on it, surely they will make it brilliant. Nope, I was wrong.
They did it in such a bad way that they broke the battery. I mean, my S9 plus needed recharging twice a day with little usage. Yeah, the One UI was bla bla bla, but I don't care how it looks, I care about the phone usage day by day.
Of course I waited 3 months (until March 2019) thinking that Samsung will eventually come with an update to correct this battery problem (which wasn't singular), but I had a better chance of winning the lottery than this.
In the end I decided to sell, with few money, my S9 plus at an amanet shop (just to get rid of it), put some extra cash and bought a one and a half year old iPhone 8 Plus which is years ahead of the S9 plus, even like this, second hand.
In the meantime I bought also an iPad 2018, deleted my Google account, YouTube account and I don't want to hear about Google and Android.
        The end.

The trouble for Google though is that despite the Android installed base being a bit over twice the size of iOS numerically, Apple's mobile platform generates 90% more revenue for third party developers than Android according to App Annie. No wonder apps still generally come out first and all too often exclusively for iOS.

And poor old Google can't make up the difference in advertising as iOS users generate 75% of Google's mobile search revenue according to Goldman Sachs.

Anonymous, 08 May 2019Yes I am finally go to switching to an iPhone next year ... moreFrom oasis to swamp hats good turn haha.

AnonD-804996, 09 May 2019No, I'm talking about billion devices sold by Chinese that ... moreBoth me and my wife have some of those "billions" of Chinese smartphones, the Mi Mix 3 for me (Android Pie) and Mi A2 for my wife (launched on Oreo, now on Pie).

Even the three year old OG Mi Mix launched on android 6 and MIUI 8, it's is now and Oreo and MIUI 10
Even after android version updates stop, devices still get MIUI updates - which adds same, and more features, than android OS upgrades, as well as android security updates.

Most Chinese manufacturers, aside from on hyper budget devices, have learned that MTK makes for difficult android OS updates due to source code hoggery by mediatek.

So please, quit your nonsense ranting.

Sure, apple updates their devices for longer, problem is that still don't make them good. Iphone 6s plus is still a bad device to be using after 2017. IOS 12 is no cure for that. SGS6
went from android 5 to 8 and still has better battery life, screen and camera than iphone 6s. So aside from HW being dated in 2019, the OS didn't really get "dated" until fall of 2018. There is no problem still using it.

But I get it, with all the obvious downsides to iphone and ios, clinging hard to the one thing they have (OS version number) must really matter to the likes of you. Seeing as you have nothing else going for your locked in devices.

Must be difficult for you to accept that 99 point some percent of the worlds smartphone users don't know nor care which OS version they are running on their devices. Only apps, battery and camera performance matters to just about anyone.

Compared to apple which will always update your phone but for what cost???
Sloer phone, slower response, laggy, buggy and when you open more apps at same time it freezes.
                          Thanks no.
And for a compatibility you always have to use some bloatware like Itunes or so.

And big brands that currently have "latest Android" which won't be anymore for sure after 2 years for flagships and pretty much no updates for lower end models. That's just garbage.

And no, iOS is pretty good. Has some dumb things, but you get used to them. Especially when you switch because of shitty privacy on Android and you literally have no other option than iOS. Custom ROM's are just not an option since none of banking apps work then and I frankly don't have the nerves to dick around with Magisk to fool apps into thinking they aren't on unlocked phone.
