sohail shafayat, 08 May 20192.5 billion unsmart people around the world!!!These stats include tv box, tablets, android emulators (bluestacks), etc any device that has a built in play store, so in effect, there’s probably less than 2.5B actual users.

And no, they are not unsmart, it’s just that some can’t afford expensive products and others need simple plug and play+flexibility options that only android can easily offer. (iOS requires geek and tech savvy people to use it to its full potential).

AnonD-833125, 08 May 2019After 9 years I said bye bye to Google and Android system. ... moreYes I am finally go to switching to an iPhone next year

Google just became obsessed with apple, by copying g even the gesture system

If I want apple gesture in Android, I rather have Apple itself

1 billion cheap and mid range devices, 1 billion with outdated OS that owners don’t know about software update and half billion between old flagship and new flagship.

AnonD-804996, 08 May 2019One thing is running Android. Another is running its latest... moreJust exactly where do you do your shopping if your hardly able to find android devices with Nougat, or newer. And finding Lollipop devices instead? Sure they still exist, would you prefer them to burn them after new devices with newer android arrives?

Just because you can buy a device as "new" (unused and unopened) in a store, doesn't automatically mean that it is a recent device. It's up to each store how they handle aged devices. Selling them at a heavily discounted price is the typical way to get rid of old stock.

You iOS users must have a very tough time doing just about anything. It must be so hard indeed. But it's okay, you are doing your best. We are all proud of you for trying! :-)

So Google has 2.5 billion Android smartphones and tablets. Are they also counting AndroidTVs, smartwatches and any other Android devices?

Interesting that Apple also recently announced there are 1.4 billion active Apple devices out of which about 1.2 billion are iOS devices (iPhones and iPads) and the rest Macs, AppleTVs and Apple Watches.

So that puts Apple's iOS platform near 50% the size of Google's Android platform which is far higher than the quarterly smartphone market share figures all the analysts continuously trumpet.

One thing is running Android. Another is running its latest or at least later version. And that's where the problems begin. There are literally still NEW devices that come with Lollipop (released in 2014!) out of the box and never receive anything newer. Getting one with Nougat is almost miracle. Version fragmentation with Android is straight up absurd. This was one of reasons (along with garbage Google privacy) for ditching it and going with iOS. It may lack some things and is clumsy at others, but it has privacy set straight and offers long term software support for at least 5 years based on past trends. In which time phone will degrade enough anyway. But you'll always have latest iOS in that time.

Well but what are you doing to improve the user experience? Seriously.. you cannot even provide proper screen recording feature with internal audio and are bragging about the number of devices you are running on.
