Wow amazing if this has been done intentionally. But I know folks with S7 and Edge who don’t have Pie yet...so it makes me doubt the intentions behind this.
Anyway I am happy for the On7 Prime users. Their device has been given a new lease of life, especially those who purchased it in 2016 and are still using it.

S7 and S7 edge users dont have PIE. Same goes for S6 and S6 edge users.

so since this is also Exynos 7870, same as J7 2017, there should be an android 9 pie for A-line 2017 phones, which i got A3 2017 almost same specs as the mentioned phone, maybe we'd get the 9.0 too, hopefully

Download Odin 3B Patched
Backup your data*
Open Odin
Put phone in Download Mode
Add AP, BL and CP (CSC is optional, try to get the same CSC you had in your phone. Then, flash the HOME_CEC file) in their respective fields.
Plug your phone.
Hit Start.
Wait
Enjoy
* Your phone may factory reset when you hit Start so do this as a precaution

And yet my daily driver perfectly mint condition S7 edge still not getting pie; no dark mode, no One Ui.
Super great camera but lack nightscape/ nightmode feature,

So all exynos 7870 phones are compatible with android pie now Samsung should update all of them which is quite a lot of phones using this processor in Samsung phones even from 2016
If the s7 doesn't revise the update than this is poor even though it is much more powerful and compatible that's what happened to the s6 the a8 2016 got oreo same chip and s6 never

Probably outsourced the upgrade job to a local team in Bangalore meaning it'll be badly written, sub-optimal and riddled with more bugs than the insect house at London Zoo.
