So technically it would be useless. I have been using dark mode on Samsung Internet Browser for like half a year and it works flawlessly with any site :)

But most users dont have ability to customize their mobile, just like me back in the day. I used to download so many themes when ownskindotcom still kicking, even my friends around me oftenly order some themes to me. Recent android have so much better performance than old Symbian, but there are some feature that Android dont have like Symbian had. Thanks to Xiaomi and some customizable UI that bring back some features back, but I recently use a Google One phone that only allow me to change the launcher, instead of whole themes. And I dont have so much spare time just like when I was young, just to customize and tweak my Symbian/Android 2.3.

I use my Z2 in a dim room but not a completely dark room. Which phone you experience the difficult to read in dim light? If like that, in dark theme you can't watch any photo with more white content, it could be affect your eyesight.

Once upon a time there was Symbian. Symbian had dark themes, blue themes, red themes, yellow themes, and most of the apps, worked over the theme, so if you wanted your phone black, then a black theme was just enough.

Some androids had themes... but then all of a sudden everybody wanted to look just like apple. Everything white.

And now the big hit: Dark Themes! Oh wow!, it made even to the news stand... dark themes!

That is the kind of technology news there are.
            Sad.

Symbian was cool, I'm not gonna argue with you on that, but it is nowhere close to today's Android.
I used to be a big Symbian fan back in the day. I actually made a lot of themes for it on Mobile9 website.
Just checked my old profile there and my themes were downloaded 747.2 million times! :)

I cannot believe this is a website for mobile phones, yet you cannot add emojis to your comments..
This seems like a website from 2000. I'm amazed it has a mobile version lmao

Except Twitter, none of the websites have option of Night/Dark mode by default. Not sure, why couple of users are asking for it on GSMArena! There is Dark Reader or similar add-on available for both Chrome & Firefox on desktop browser. Although Chrome mobile app don't support add-ons, we can install it on Firefox mobile app just like desktop browser.

Admit it or not, Java MIDP 2.0 and Symbian was far ahead compared to android in display customization. I used to change my themes when I was using My Old Nokia (Java and Symbian). Even most android phones dont provide alarm function when phone turned off. I dont know why developer reduce so many feature in recent smartphone.

Anonymous, 12 May 2019But make it optional, because I prefer a light theme at day.Indeed. That's the real problem. CHOICE!

It doesn't matter what people prefer. It matters that you have the choice to choose for yourself. But in recent years OS devs have taken away choice from people. THAT is the real problem.
