Not to mention if you make it too dim, the white becomes difficult to read. And that's not even talking about the fact that holes and notches become super hidden with dark mode

The white theme is all the way just... moreIf i lower the brightness it still brighter than using dark theme, also i have no issues reading on a black background, you just need to make the text more thicker maybe, but i can still read them on their normal size.

It depends, some apps actually do better in sunlight with a light theme ... wouldn't it be nice if we could choose on app by app on situation by situation?
Oh, wait, then we wouldn't be able to be fanboys.

Personally, I use completely black themes.
Not just because I use amoled screens but because I find it easier on the eye.
I mean white text on black backgrounds, even on the browser.

Stop misleading people! The white theme is all the way just have a nice display to tune down brightness for comfy reading or watching. Dark theme isn't nice when reading is a bit difficult than white theme. Especially the browser color is better and beautiful match with white theme, the dark theme is awful because the color is not matched.
Smartphone display just like a paper so basically white theme is better.

I have used windows phone and sailfish for a long time. Black theme and Gestures in android never amuses me

i feel this is an unfinished article...like they should write more after saying dark mode is wasted on LCD screen. some deeper elaboration maybe

The title was "Weekly poll: Do you use dark themes?" and then above voting selections was the question "Which is better?". These are two totally diferent questions: maybe I consider better the dark because of less energy cosumption etc but maybe I use light theme because white text on black background is hurting my eyes. I hope next poll doesn't confuse different things
