HTC having issues with Marketing, Still producing the most powerful and amazing smartphone devices, never copy from any one.
Just it is marketing Killing it. First introduce NFC, First No Notch, First no physical buttons. Long List of pioneering but no but few people knows about that.

At least HTC was responsible for many innovation of mobile world.
Samsung Mobile used to copy Apple.
Now they copy Huawei and Oppo.
Nothing new is brought by Samsung.

As for Sony they're in the same boat, the specs are there but the price is too high to justify compared to equally priced flagships.

Notsure, 11 May 2019I believe so, too, the huge bezels were the worst at that time.And still are. Watch the Pixel 3a and 3a XL..... "The Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are the first Pixel smartphones designed primarily by Google's HTC team."
And i'm almost sure that is HTC the one manufacturing those phones too.

As for SONY, the reason why SONY high-end is not selling well, is because SONY camera division were afraid that SONY phone camera become too good, and DSLR/mirror-less camera losing sales.

Why HTC is loosing the SEA (South East Asian) market & China market?? Bcox HTC device is NOT good enough for this region.
If HTC want to continue in this market please make a BIGGER battery, BIGGER screen. China & SEA market want big battery, and not a petite phone.
If HTC still want to release small phone with small battery (slim profile), maybe Europe & USA is the best area for them.
