Why do you think all these manufacturers are releasing 5G handsets and people making purchases of these 5G capable handset?
The only requirement is to make a purchase in order to benefit from PRINCIPALLY 1 Gbps now, if the other protocols that comprise the FULL 5G standards are the most important to have later models will have it so those purchasers will have to wait
People are aware that there is a roll out to major cities first, I am saying that the U.K. is 5G because 6 cities access to 1Gbps

The 5G standard is a collection of specifications, including both hardware and software requirements, exactly like 4G LTE, 3G, and absolutely every single telecommunication standard. And the 5G standard isn't ready yet. It's not completed! Those people aren't future-proofing their purchases. It's not going to require a software update to get full 5G. They will need fully compliant 5G hardware too.

Except for "fashionable" many are holding onto phones longer 2019 5G phone now, 2022 , 2022 specs, faster 5G both downloading and uploading
These are the minimum speeds
Download Speeds
3G Network 384Kbps
4G Network 100Mbps
5G Network 1-10Gbps or higher
The person obtained the actual minimum to qualify
What you have to take into account even now a vast majority have not witnessed 5G speeds
The choice is this similar to the 4G roll out, do I buy another 3G phone or a 4G capable handset.
Many especially in South Korea 250,000 per Gsmarena article have opted for a 5G handset, what they are doing is future proofing this purchase, you are buying a 2019 5G capable 4G handset , 2020 5G releases will have better specs.
Any / all 4G handsets cannot be upgraded to be 5G
This option is not available to Apple iPhone who won't get a 5G iphone until 2020 so 16 months away and despite Apple benchmark setting records, internet speed won't match
Many are deciding 5G handset is my next phone, 5G should be viewed like a software upgradeable, 5G or the features are not available now but will be

Oneplus 7 pro cost much less and offers 5G better screen, faster charging equal battery etc. And is as durable as we saw Jerry rig video.

£1300+ worth of Samsung dullness, it will need the big battery and fast charge, as its going to eat power, specialy when on 5G,when and if you can find a network !!
