Thats still behind Dolby and the current standard of HDR10+
Also xperia1 only has 8 bit display. Xperia 1 has a 10-bit equivalent display (8-bit with 2-bit smoothing), commonly referred to as 8+2 FRC (Temporal Dithering).

If I was in charge of a fast growing phone company or one in sonny's position, I would most certainly drop the usa as a market, look at what happens to firms who insist on trying to succeed in the usa, take HTC, they were doing fine until they decided to become a usa centric company, the compromises or things that firms have to design the phones around, mean the rest of the world end up with phones they don't want..

Old dumbphones all have mono speaker.
Stereo is 10x better than mono.

If anyone from Sony reads this, which I guess not. If they were able to read the market they wouldn't be where they are today.
What you need to make the mobile division profitable is to make sensible phones for everyday use.
pulling out from markets, merging with other divisions, leverage brand recall of other products etc are just gimmicks - just like most of your phones. Looks grand on paper but utterly useless in real world

Sony has ported most of the Walkman software features to Android and they are the only manufacturer that offer proper LDAC and aptX quality across the whole range.
