Sinking ship. Don't let the door hit you on the way out. Or do, I don't care.

Hopefully their next step is to start improving their marketing tactics and cover up the primary needs, namely the battery, camera, and pricing.
Battery, because while I do believe that Sony's battery optimization is great, I don't think that 3330mAh battery will last at least a day for a 4K HDR screen of 6.5" size.
Camera, because the sensors are class-leading, but the software needs some heavy work.
Pricing, because while I do know that what they're doing isn't very cheap, making the pricing reasonable sometimes could aid some of their big time losses in the long run. If the Xperia 1 came out around the same release date as the Galaxy S10 series for, say $850 at max, then it has a lot of potential to attract many customers away from them.

it was so easy for sony to just make a midrange phone like google with a flagship camera. price it decent since your sony and you can demand some brand money.
people who buy sony nowdays are people who remember the glory days of the brand.

Good decision, Sony. If you can't sell your phones at a reasonable price, might as well just leave the market.
