That feeling when Teenage Engineering is not even mentioned in the post.
People don't even understand what it is. It will not sell millions, it was never meant to be. It's just an experimental collaboration between a synthesizer company and a software company.
I'm not going to buy it but it has that TE charm.

There are boxes like this in aliexpress that cost 20 euro and have 1000 games installed on it.

The crank should have the capability to charge the device or others if available.

I'm happy with my slim models of the Sony PSP and PS Vita. I used to have the PSP phat but left it in the Philippines. My brother recently gave me his slim model before moving to Manhattan. Man, playing on a PSP feels really OUTDATED compared to a Vita. The resolution is so awful now.

I stick to only Sony when it comes to video games like I plan to stick to only Google when it comes to smartphones. I'm just hoping the Pixel series sticks around long enough. For other stuff, it's random like Samsung or LG for TVs and other appliances. For computers, surprisingly Apple. Hate iOS but I'm fine with macOS.

NL, 24 May 2019This is so sad, for half the price you can get full entry-l... moreFirst, Android sucks, second, Android sucks. Third, try it (in the future) before whining?

veryangrynerd, 24 May 2019A Redmi Note 7 which is under 150 usd is capable of playing... morePerfect reply thou.. cos even i felt the funding will take a hit.. psp or Gameboy is much better at low prices(30-80$),big collection, easy repairs,no ads(as some ppl states),and is readily available :) dis thing is 149 :|

AnonD-558092, 24 May 2019How many of those games are actually worth playing? You can... moreA Redmi Note 7 which is under 150 usd is capable of playing many decent games. That first of all can be my phone with which i can communicate, and also game reasonably. IF i were to have a budget of 150 for a phone and 150 for a gaming console i would much rather buy a 30 usd game boy from ages ago which has a vast library of amazing games not this garbage that will most likely end at 12 games because 6 people decided to donate to this studio

the price is not friendly, just saying...

Lol i can buy a 2DS XL for 100 usd, if i wanted nostalgia I'll get a PSP for 50-80 bucks lol

NL, 24 May 2019This is so sad, for half the price you can get full entry-l... moreHow many of those games are actually worth playing? You can discard every slots/casino game, any Pay-2-Win game, any match-3 game, any battle royale game (bad games, but your -140$ Android won't be able to play those anyway), any game where you see more ads than you actually play...

I can buy Redmi Note 7 at USD 144 in my country ! Just saying :)

The concept is great although it is rather directed to a specific birch market of retro/ Pixel inspired games it will be a hard market to reach out to as Nintendo have proven that the 2ds rules.

It will be hard to judge the games as we don't have any info on the games but from what we read of the specs it will be just that... something to pass the time with.

I'm always interested in this sort of devices it fill a certain void in the market....

All the best for the developers of the hardware and software and I'm sure a lot of ideas will come out with the use of the crank

It looks pretty cool and the price is in the affordable territory...but I'm not sure what to make of this as of right now. It would have been nice if they could have include some demo to see how it would work when it's officially released.

This is so sad, for half the price you can get full entry-level android experience and ready to download like, maybe 120.000 choices games at your fingertips instead of only 12 games.
Unless this device is priced below $49 not $149, then no argument needed

                                So it's like a Gameboy?

With 149$ you can get a decent smartphone
