AnonD-8542, 27 Jan 2012Sigh... still think it was a mistake to let go of Meego. Wo... moreJohn I am Malaysian as well, and here is some hope. The Lumia 800 will be launched soon, and I can promise you that if you buy it you are never going to ever regret it, as you will then know that you have made the best purchase of any smartphone you can or ever will find.

lololol, 26 Jan 2012Yeah yeah i agree with hahaha my lumia failed after malware... moreCome on lololol , you and me know that you do not use the Nokia Lumia , and thats settled. Wether Nokia and WP 7.5 Mango succeeds or does better than Apple only time will tell. But as an Apple fanboy I can safely say, unless Apple comes out with the iPhone 5 and a radical change, Nokia Lumia will sell a hell of a lot more units than Apple. If it is a radical change, then Nokia will sell 3 times more than Apple. Watch WP 7.5 mango, it's scary, it can only get better, and the world's biggest Giant software company that produces it, has now woken up from its slumber, and that in itself is very very scary.

Sigh... still think it was a mistake to let go of Meego. Would have gotten the N9 in Malaysia but it's being discontinued. Imagine using a smartphone without viber, whatapps etc.

Nokia's Lumia series if good one. and I hope this will take Nokia to a new height. Windows OS Mango is far more better than earlier versions and runs smoothly. The only thing why consumers are going to Android is, Android has much more applications and features as compared to windows Mango. I am sure windows will also come up with lots of new features and applications in upcoming versions of its OS.
And I hope Windows 8 will be the game changer as Microsoft is claiming that it will be the legend like Microsoft Windows 95.

AnonD-1082, 26 Jan 2012Stop spreading lies. Give us a link to that article if you ... morefanboy Pro, I am a Apple Fanboy and it includes everything Apple. But on the 24th. of december walking about I caught site of the Lumia800. I bought one, and it has changed how I use smartphones. A week later I sold my Apple iPhone 4S, and now I am predicting that Nokia will sell 3-5 Million Lumia WP7.5 as it is the greatest. My family were also Apple users, and all now use the Lumia WP 7.5 mango. Superb, simple superb. I am now waiting for the Lumia 900, that is going to rock. Stay cool Bro., and please do not bother arguing with people on Nokia , in a short while they will be able to see when the results show.

Wonder how well the N9 sold, even with the knowledge that Meego would be discarded.

lololol, 26 Jan 2012Yeah yeah i agree with hahaha my lumia failed after malware... moreMalware writers don't target specific companies, they target popular OS's, hence iOS is way more vulnerable than say WP7 for viruses and malware, If you don't know what you're talking about, well just don't act like you do.
I bet you thought Mac computers were actually more secure than windows pc's? In reality Mac computers marked share was lame, hence the lack of viruses made for them.

Nice. At this rate, WP7 will DEFINITELY overtake iOS by 3015, provided Apple's board decides to translate the entire company into beings of pure energy and leave this plane of existence.

WP7 could support more features, but even on Mango Nokia could stick in the N8 camera module, for instance. Expandable memory, local phone backup software, better Bluetooth device support (e.g. Keyboards) and display output would really be good.

I'm surprised this news only got 48 comments so far, most of the NOkia fanboys must've ran with their tails between their legs. Profit loss of 1 billion compared to Q4 2010? Didn't Samsung and Apple report record profits? This was also in correlation to Microsoft paying nOkia 240 million in advertisements?

I don't suppose it worth pointing out that the Lumia sold over 1 million in 6 weeks in only six countries. And that the orginal figure was only 500,000

Its only a start for Nokia. Saying that it would good to see what the flagship Nexus sells in 6 weeks

Its nice to see all these comments from die-hard fans of the various mobile platforms. I think we have to cut this website some slack and analyse things for ourselves.

1.The lumia phones sold well in limited countries but is that because they are that good or because they enjoyed a MASSIVE advertising and marketing drive that the other phones nokia wants forgotten about didn't? If the answer is the latter then by all means considering the holiday season and financial effort sales weren't that impressive!
Besides why issue a press release and focus so much on Lumia sales, ignoring the less marketed N9 and "symbians" when they make up more than 98 percent of smartphone sales of the company in the quarter? And then, turn right around to imply interest and patronage of those devices is dwindling. Funny isn't it?

I've always loved Nokias because i believe they make durable and relevant handsets. Personally i would wish they didnt scrap any of the OS's they have right now, give them the same support and love they show to Lumia and see if they wont cause further disruptions in the "mobile OS ecosystem". Long live OS'S , long live competition!!
