This will fail like windows phone (best os in my opinion) simply cause developers won't make apps for them

I'd like to hear more details about the platform before I can make my verdict of it. A lot of us have been aching for an android replacement, but it would need to be fully competitive to get accepted and become successful.

Very suiting name for huawei. Huawei Ark OS will be housing all the rejects of the free world.

If Huawei could have made a successful OS..they would have done it a long time ago... just like Samsung tried to do...but failed... only Apples OS is the most secured..Even the daughter CFO Meng of Huawei was caught using Apple products...iphone,ipad, and the mac book...funny..

Ark really could be a beast of a competitor to Google and i will bet on, it will be big thx to Trump.
Here in Europe many people better trust China now, then US since the US dictator Trump took the power and pisses of most of the world.
This will be great for sure.
I will pray for all Chinese brand support the Ark, it will be more safe for them for sure, because the know Trump could do the same sh.. as he did to Huawei.
Im sure Trump once again has shot himself with all this.

Now, if only that tiny tiny tiny problem replacing... ARM!

People wake-up. This is doomed to fail. (Windows mobile failed with MS at the helm but Ark will succeed where MS mobile didn't?)

What about that Foldable thing? It takes an catered OS for foldables and even Google's Q isnt quite ready for primetime for it.

Most of you people believes in unicorns I see.

Tree steps to make this OS popular
                          1. Can run android apps
                          2. Open for everyone so BBK and Xiaomi could do phones on it
                          3. Easy updates for years - don't forget Windows phone fail.

So, is it Android computable, or a JavaScript based OS or complete Linux etc? How come no details?

An OS is not so difficult with big money, but needs talent and a steady deeply insightful hand to develop it deeply and fully. These are the areas a lot OS's fail in, well mobile OS's in particular. You need something which Android is becoming, which IOS has been, more a pocket computer with a good interface (not like Android or metro). It needs to be like an embedded OS with breadth of feature coverage, with user features with breadth, both which Android failed at, and best security.

travis999, 28 May 2019And about time too. Fingers crossed for huawie's new os su... moreSamsung already has there own OS before Huawei even shows up and even before android became famous, they released with wave phones back in 2010. I used the wave phones with Samsung OS and it’s utter crap with lot of bugs and issues, even though Samsung developed now the Tizan OS (used to be Nokia OS replacement of Symbian OS in the past) still failure and now Samsung using Tazin only for there smartwatch, refrigerator and some Samsung smart TVs.

Building and developing OS not as easy as you think wish the best for Huawei.

I can see this working especially if they can make us sideload .apk files to install an Android app just like the late BlackBerry OS. But still, I doubt a lot of people will invest on this OS in their 1st generation.
