And we get confirmation regarding the Mi 9T branding as well (sort of).

The absence of an IR blaster can be remedied by buying an optional accessory:
      https://www.gearbest.com/chargers-cables/pp_009386814589.html

But no micro sd slot? Epic fail - at least for Netflix users or those who love to store movies/tv series and other huge media files or 4K videos for binge watching anywhere they go. The 400GB Sandisk micro sd card is currently very cheap - well below $65 and soon, even the 1 TB Sandisk micro sd card will be so cheap, nobody will ever buy a smartphone with higher than 64GB internal storage anymore (unless it is a crippled smartphone with no card slot).

Buy the Pocophone F1 instead with micro sd card slot. Much better value for the money and excellent developer support so you can have not only Android Q, but Android R and S as well.

Just don't update the Pocophone F1 (or any Xiaomi phone for that matter), when it is already on its second year (by August 2020 for the Pocophone F1) because Xiaomi will render it VERY slow charging (200mA!) and/or rapid battery draining by the second year (2020).

Xiaomi phones don't stutter or slow down with updates but the fast charging mysteriously disappears, and the battery starts draining fast starting on the second year: It's planned obsolescence - Xiaomi style. It's different from Apple's slowing/throttling down 'strategy' and Samsung's 'more stutter' and freezes strategy, making you wonder where the fast processor power went and what happened to the oodles of RAM that just a year or two ago, made the experience super fast and fluid.

      Be seriously warned.

I repeat, if you have a Xiaomi phone, if it is already 2 years old and there is that last set of MIUI/android updates before Xiaomi stops supporting your aging Xiaomi phone model, don't ever update it especially if your Xiaomi phone is approaching 2 years old! You'll surely regret it!

Three of my Xiaomi phones mysteriously charged super slow after MIUI 10 update on their 2nd and 3rd year of updates: their final/last MIUI updates before they become
unsupported according to Xiaomi's support page. On the other hand, my 1 year old Xiaomi phones and tablets which also got updated to MIUI 10 did not have the same problem. For sure, next year (2nd year), they'll suffer the same fate under MIUI 11 or 12 under 'Xiaomi style' planned obsolescence.

A huge battery is not supposed to have charging and/or battery drain problems in 2-3 year's use given the much longer lifespan of higher capacity 4100mAh - 4850mAh batteries in the Redmi 4x and Mi Max Prime.

Well, I think it's official, K20 will be marketed globally as Mi 9T, while K20 Pro will stay in China for the time being

And forget about memory cards and IR blasters those are minor features found only in cheap phones.

Also the only devices with flagship SoCs that still support microSD cards are Samsung and LG phones along with a bunch of cheap low-end and mid-range ones.

Lo and behold your new Poco F2 series lol no more microSD card slot or IR face recognition and a shitty motorized pop-up camera, at least it doesn't have an ugly elongated notch like the original Poco.

So how authentic are these claims? A successor in a series taking a step back in hardware specs is almost unheard of. Making 2 separate versions isn't an excuse unless they're going to name them Lite (730) and regular (855) instead, and boy, the former better be cheaper because ain't nobody gonna pay more for less (compared to Poco F1).

I spoke to Xiaomi in uk, they confirmed that K20 Pro is not poco f2 based on their answer, k20 pro in Redmi line and f2 will be a different device which will be released maybe in 2 months time.

I think India will get it known as F2 and here in the UK it will be known as 9T. I hope Xiaomi play their cards right and it's launched in the UK at the same price as when the MI9 (which was £499 but that was for the 6GB/64GB) If the Zenfone 6 is successful (which judging by those pre-orders in the UK and how quickly it becomes out of stock) it should be and Xiaomi gets the pricing right. OnePlus will just become an Obsolete Chinese brand.

Pocophone F2 will not be a rebranded K20/K20 Pro. Outside of China and India, K20 and K20 Pro will be called Mi 9T and Mi 9T Pro.
