I think Samsung marketing has gone too far. It puts me off actually buying another Samsung when you have to wonder with the lack of faith in their own products.
If Apple does really well with just one major cell phone and it maintains value (relevance)what is that telling you about Samsung where you buy a cell phone, drive it out of the shop, and it losses value straight away.
The backside is falling out of the value of Samsung products as Samsung is just churning out any stuff now and calling it new.

AnonD-15279, 29 Jan 2012It's very similar to the Galaxy R specs-wise. I think there... moreGalaxy R only available in selected countries.
so, this Galaxy SA will fill the gap.

S, S plus, R now S Advanced ? how low Samsung intend to continuing life cycle of same phone.

I guess S3 been delayed & going back to the drawing board after Samsung notice the Sony Xperia S equiped with fully loaded specs.

The original GS probably won't get ICS because it is too old and carries a single core which samsung may consider to be too underpowered and will destroy the user experience. With more powerful hardware I'm sure GSadv will get ICS and more as its basically part of the current generation. Also a key difference between G-R and this is the screen. I would buy the amoled over LCD anyday and I think this fills the gap well for someone who wants to spend less than GSII or think GSII is too big. I think this will be perfect for girls who may not want such a big slab like GSII or GSIII. Screens just keeps getting bigger, but there is a point that it needs to stop to still be called a portable phone.

again the same thing from samsung. they hill launch the phone with price of around Rs26k(indian currency). around $80 cheaper than SGS2 and then when it wont sell then they will reduce the price again. the same cycle keeps repeating itself. dunno whats wrong with Galaxy R. if people were so keen on aMOLED then they could get Splus or S2...

Nice Phone. My only worry is that Samsung are not keen to update the software. I went for Sonyericsson. They are keen on satisfying their customers.

AnonD-1334, 30 Jan 2012Although, I'm waiting for GS3, having been sold my GS2. If... moreI completely agree with you. even i am in the same boat and i guess many like us. waiting for GS3 and if there isnt anything for the MWC, better opt for Note.

However, the GS Advance may be a strategic move by the samsung. probably, They want to implement Exynos 5212 for GS3 which shall delay till june.

Yes this should be Galaxy R with AMOLED

If Price is lowered and has adequate RAM then GS Advance has good chance than Galaxy R and Galaxy S Plus. As far as i think, Samsung should use the ROM of GS2 for GSAdvance as it will help the users and developer community.

Did device isn't needed. The Galaxy line is already over crowded. What samsungs needs to do is lower the 1Ghz price to less than Rs 12k.

                          Isn't this galaxy R?!

I think Samsung does not has anything for MWC hence stalling

as we already know, Samsung Galaxy R / Galaxy Z only available in very limited area.
so Samsung Galaxy S Advanced will be shipped to ther other countries that do not get Samsung Galaxy R / Galaxy Z yet.

A user or sgs2. After a broken down galaxy s, im still willing to give samsung another chance. But this so called galaxy s advance. . . . . .and this other galaxy s version in asia thats clocking at single core 1.4ghz. . . . Just not gonna cut it. No ones gonna buy and with MWC coming up, might as well wait for the S3 or Xperia S from Sony

Dave, 29 Jan 2012The Galaxy S does not need ICS. Everyone who has an Galaxy ... moreAre you a Samsung salesperson?

Samsung was pushing Galaxy S variants as recently as 12 months ago. A lot of people like me are on 24 months contract and 10 months to go. There are a lot app that do not work on TouchWiz and numbers will only increase as Galaxy S will not get updates.

Samsung may have sold a lot of phones but if you look at satisfaction rates for IPhone it is about 90% geeks pushing the sales. For Android in general, and Samsung in particalr it must be running aroung 50% in general and I cannot imagine any geeks beein happy about not getting updates and they WILL take Samsung down. One geek is worth 100 Samsung sales person and marketting staff,

Samsung is having a Nokia moment and will not even know what hit them,
