I have no doubt that microsoft will make office compatible with arm architecture.
          Why would anyone doubt that?

However non microsoft apps might be a problem.
But we'll probably see some of the big guns, in full version on arm. But then, there might be some apps that we will only see in stripped down versions.

JobApp, 30 Jan 2012I don't think any of the current smart phone would work on ... morewhy would it be?
I could understand 1280x720, as that is a HD resolution standard.... and there are moibles with that resolution. 1366x768 is not really the standard, but its compatible with 720p.
besides, windows usually run on lesser resolutions than the recommended

3Zukr, 30 Jan 2012But what if you install number applications in your desktop... moreI also hope that it will maintain it's fast boot. From some articles I've read, when Windows 8 boot, unlike previous Windows, It only load the necessary libraries for startup. This including services. Any other libraries and services will startup only when we really need them. So first load of apps may be a little longer while starting up libraries and/or services. CMIIW.

M68k stopped development, so it was pretty easy to guarantee that 68k emulation was able to perform well under PPC.

Windows ARM will have a harder time emulating x86, as x86 is still higher performance. ARM is not an upgrade - it's a sidestep.

It's not going to happen anything like Mac m68k emulation under PPC. The comparison is not good.

leave this job for intel , windows 8 is for intel , not ARM , and hope that intel replaces the ARM for mobile phones too (:

As a reminder - Apple was able to make older application to run on their new architectures during transition form Motorola 68k to Power PC and from Power PC to Intel... So it is perfectly possible to make Windows 8 on ARM to run Intel applications albeit slower of course.

I'm and Android fan, but if Win 8 could run my desktop apps on ARM based hardware... (with a decent database support), Thinks can definitely change...

I don't think any of the current smart phone would work on Windows 8 because I think the min screen-pixel requirement is 1366 x 768.

Becasue I still remember when I have installed Windows 7 in my PC, first time it took almost 10 secs to boot and I was very happy to see its booting time. But as I have started installing software applications, gradually its booting has started increasing and now it takes more than 3 minutes. Its Horrible and pathetic.
I hope similar situation will not be there in case of Windows 8.
