Just because US are a bunch of spies does not make China the good guys here.

IpsDisplay, 07 Jun 2019iOS is basically only supported by America most of its sale... moreChinese pride or Chinese censorship?
If not using Chinese OS results in having bad social credit rating with the govt, what do you think will happen?
Hmmmmmmmm.

I hope the new OS will be successful that other smartphone companies will be inspired to create their own OS. The market will be much thrilling.

lamsa, 07 Jun 2019if Huawei OS succeful, Samsung may re-releast his Tizen OS,... more100% Agreed with you. Huawei may or may not successfu, but its sure every other non US major OEM will slowly try to develop their own OS. Because no one know who is going to get the trade ban.

iOS is basically only supported by America most of its sales and support
With Chinese patriotism/pride and a billion plus Chinese people this I believe will work
Windows OS wasn't birthed in political turmoil neither was blackberry and none of those is had a billion strong to support it

Well to me it looks like Google flocks his own pants with something brown and smelly and cant get replacement.
Its a win win for Huawei.
Now only if they can make their own GPUS.
To be completely selfconfident and not relly on other companies.
If they become sucessful another company will be blown out from money in their safe.
In other words go go go Huawei i am your fan in front of the line.

AnonD-784107, 07 Jun 2019Well I'm sorry but I feel that we should have options. We'r... moreThis IS an alternative option. And I welcome it (actually, a lot of people do, Spydroid/iOS duopoly has lasted way too long). Just choose a platvorm you like, but don't babble about lack of options. :)

I'll believe it will dethrone Android when their OS is released, has a security flaw bounty program, monthly updates guaranteed and has apps. Microsoft failed with Windows Phone just because of apps. They had the OS, the updates, a broad OEM support... I hope they have a solid plan.
I wish something new comes along without Android's recent nonsense but I fear Huawei won't deliver this. TBC in Fall.
Android compatibility isn't the way to go however. A lot of apps are also dependent on proprietary Google Play Services. Plus OS/2 failed because devs didn't see the point in making OS/2 apps when OS/2 ran Windows apps, and consumers didn't see the point of using OS/2 to then use Windows apps.
A little tech history never hurts so I hope they have a plan.
