Weekly poll: is iOS 13 a worthwhile update for the iPhone? What about the iPad?

09 June 2019
iPadOS splitting off may be the beginning of the end for Mac OS. But the iPhone changelog is shorter, offering few major improvements.

GIF, 09 Jun 2019Android users are so negative here against iOS users. Would... moreSome people hate the apple users, some hate the products and some are hating the brand philosophy. I don't hate the apple users(only those who are on the offensive site), but I hate apple philosophy. It is idiotic to promote some features like thay are groundbreaking when those same future android users are enjoying for years. Ui without options to shose(icon style, gesture types, theme engine, icon grid, developer options, and many more small things tham make android so versatile). And all the issues with repairability. Considering the money thay are asking it is just not acceptable what thay are doing and what thay are forcing the consumers. Almost all my friends who are using iPhone thay are claiming that iPhone is the bast for everybody not only for them without knowing what I'm toking about android's software and hardware capabilities. Just arguing without facts all the time. That type of apple fan boys I don't like

GIF, 09 Jun 2019Android users are so negative here against iOS users. Would... moreAbout a third of us “Apple haters” are trolls, posting from iPhones.

Android shilling has been a meme here for years, dating back to when the pajeets were still asking “Do it runs WhatsApp?” about every new phone.

Relax, its all in good fun. Apple makes a very good set of phones with privacy in mind.

GIF, 09 Jun 2019Android users are so negative here against iOS users. Would... moreBecause they're convinced that Everybody who buys Apple is a sheep or just doesn't know what tech is "better"

GIF, 09 Jun 2019Android users are so negative here against iOS users. Would... moreCoz many things are a part of Android already. Better security? Each year is "better". Swipe? Right... Dark mode? Not worth updating...

Android users are so negative here against iOS users. Would be interesting to know why?

(I'm using smartphones and tablets on both Android and iOS.)

I'm looking forward to the end of the file-system black-box for local files on iOS devices. But I have got used to having most of my data in the cloud anyway.

I'm also hoping that lifting the file-size cap for mobile communication may balance the load a bit across my four subscriptions. (I also remember having to use Personal Hotspot to update an iPhone and an iPad while boating - when battery charging required some planning.)

This is such a solid upgrade to the iPhone 6 I now thank God I've just sold.

Another thing, it's so really really very lately to support swipe typing.
                Just almost a decade, really?

AnonD-794217, 09 Jun 2019iOS: catches up Android, just a bit iPadOS: kills MacBook ... moreYep, but Mac isn't going anywhere soon.

iPadOS (technically iOS for iPad) is still a mobile OS
which can't run Xcode, FCPX, Logic Pro, Android Studio,
console-based (npm, flutter, ionic, bash, etc.)
or even some legacy x86-64 programs natively yet.
(I will count the MS Office and Photoshop as exceptions for now)

By the way, every apps in the App Store need to be created and
maintained in the Xcode which still nowadays required a Mac to do that.

Apple maybe one day able to kill off the Mac eventually
(as it should with the iPod for good)
but the time hasn't come yet.

To be honest, I don't see how capable iPad Pro, which is claimed that faster than MacBook Air, really is if it's still not run macOS.
However, I don't have to wait for that anymore when Apple had decided to go with this route (iPadOS) instead.

Plus let's see if Apple is gonna ever released a Mac with Apple A-series ARM later.

As long as the IOS is user not friendly noone is interested in its bloatware and software bugs which prevents devices from charging slowing other mostly older devices and dont even suport a quickcharge.
Without bloatware like Itunes one cant even connect phone to its wibndows computer for file transer.
Not even mentoing the apple dont supports SD cards.
I am long time dobne with this chinese made phones where USA company literrary buying whole device from chinese / taiwanese foxconn.
