MAPS. Cross-country trail running needs (Satellite) maps! Even google maps will do. But still "no maps!". Maybe not enough memory for maps, so more memory. Look to Apple watch for inspiration.

Understand the limitation and use it within those limitation. How useful something is subjective. It is useful as long as you can interpret the results within specification. It's only not useful if its completely random. Otherwise, IT IS USEFUL, because its all relative!

Especialy if you take for consideration Apple results 18 test - one was correct.
Just take a look at what real doctor or better yet cardiologist has to say about that. They will literally laugh i your face.

As your certification indicates, as in the Apple Watch, as you comment as an estimate that performs. Even so, saying that they are 5% accurate is false. While they are not comparable with professional instruments.

In general they work decently well for their purpose. And in the case of optical pulse meters, they allow you to do without chest straps except for series and rapid changes of rhythm.

Surely in more than one case will help, like the detector of falls if you are playing sports or go fast by bicycle. Better that than don't wear nothing. You only wear or carry a professional device when it is prescribed because you already have a serious problem, due to its cost, maintenance and monitoring.

I mean not PR theory, real knowlege.

TBH only idiot would fully trust numbers you see on any smartwatch - steps, heart rate, EKG etc. all really rough estimates.

Especially taking advantage that their code is proprietary. So they have more freedom than any other open source to track and monitor you and allow access that data to whoever they want.

Fearghast, 11 Jun 2019Useless ECG with 5% accuracy ... even Bip 2 botched with 1/... moreTheir optical heart rate sensor was improved a lot even being a simple one and now is as accurate as any other on the market among the good guys. Plus their new ones are a lot better with better components.

I doubt that their ECG has 5% accuracy. And sure that if at the beginning they must adjust it, they'll do, like they did with the optical heart rate sensor. Someone at Apple afraid?

Good watches for the price and good value for money. Waiting for the Stratos succesor in my case. Hope it'll maintain its quality construction and transfective screen being a sports centered watch plus the ECG and improved sensors like this ones, the eSim will be welcome too as an extra. That will absolutly be a perfect watch, with its few flaws addressed. They could even profit to increase its protection from 5 to 10 bar. Hopes hopes... waiting for it.

why be so pessimist and negative?
