Yeah, S2 and Note are really, really beasts, but this is why it's better to have a Google phone. Galaxy Nexus came with the ICS, and Nexus S got the update month and a half ago. Yeah it's buggy for some users, but not for everyone, for me, it's perfect, Nexus S is really a new phone with ICS, but still, it will get the complete update before Note or S2. And let's not forget, Motorola Xoom (also Google) got the ICS few weeks back. This really creates a huge mess on the stage, in some aspects Note and S2 HD are better than Galaxy Nexus (hardware) but Galaxy Nexus gets uber-special treatment. Still, I'm for Google phones. TouchWiz sucks, pure Android is awesome :D

Just an hour ago updated and it works perfect. No problems no bugs so far. Face unlock is good, browser good. Smoother than before, but not that big changes overall.

Relax relax ... and enjoy one of the best smartphones on the planet :)
I'm on 2.3.5 and it´s stable and battery last easily two days on moderate use.
People still on 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 could considering flashing a newer firmware, if they have problems related to firmware. XDA have a lot of threads and helpful people ready to help ...
ICS might be better but I have no problem waiting a couple of months.
Just my opinion :)

Abid, 31 Jan 2012I have SGS2 for couple of months and waiting for ICS update... morefor heavens sake learn a bit of patience, what would you rather have a working software update, or a beta test to work through?
if you dont buy brands because you dont like to wait guess you arent buying a premier car marque at any point then

Everyone needs to shut up about the dam ICS update. I'm happy that they are taking their time to make sure its done right. Who cares that the Galaxy S is not getting ICS. Its a 2 year old phone!!! it just upgrade to the Galaxy S 3 when that comes out.

Abid, 31 Jan 2012I have SGS2 for couple of months and waiting for ICS update... moreDo you even read? It says it's "progressing according to schedule." Are you seriously that blind to any form of text? If you have such a problem waiting for things to arrive accordingly, throw it out and buy a Galaxy Nexus

I have SGS2 for couple of months and waiting for ICS update. But Samsung is sleeping and not releasing it soon. If this is the service of samsung then I will not buy samsung in the future.

Sorry I can't agree with some points with this article of GSMArena, LP6 is NOT a daily usable ROM, it does improve touch response and more snappy than previous leaks but it re-introduced some bugs, and mainly some basic and important features don't work, like FM Radio, Network mode disappearance, device won't search GPS satellites etc etc. I already mentioned them in XDA,

Excellent news. On a related issue does anyone know if the Gingerbread update that was pushed out for the Note about a week ago is avilable to SIM free phones in the UK please? As of yet it has not shown up on mine when I check. Many thanks in advance.
I'm hoping we can get a lock screen that when using the pattern lock will still have music controls that can work with different music players.
