Google's collection is effectively impossible to avoid, regardless of whether you've ever used any of their services or devices; and it's more invasive than Orwell's Telescreens.

even if you dine in a restaurant nowadays they ask your personal information thru surveys.
I think what people need to is to be educated on how these information being collected and how its being used.
Ignorance can be a problem.

All the American search engines up top, to increase chances that the user selects them? And where is Quant? Where is StartPage?
Where is the option to stop Google from collecting information on me like I am a political dissident or a target for espionage? Network usage, precise location, WiFi networks, text, message and voice communications, and more. When can I disable Google's collection of these things?
This is not enough.

I don't get the point of... moreThe problem is not you, the problem is the mass that are quite unaware of their suroundings, smartphones, pc's whatever. They just use them with no protection whatsoever, don't ask questions don't have a clue how much data they give up while buying this devices. This is not for people that actually know a bit of privacy, this is for the avarage joe, or better said for the 80% of the market place. Yes if not everywhere, in europe their should be a choice if one wants google apps installed or nat, but that should also be the case for apple.

DDG is a better alternative. 'Bangs' makes it easy to search via google quickly at times.

Some will probably use a different web browser because Chrome for Android isn't all that great but everyone uses Google's search engine.
