viano, 13 Jun 2019you are simple infected by Xiaomis fooling classification a... moreInfected by Xiaomi? Lol. You stated "Global" only meant support for one other region. I explained that "Global" applies to all the other Xiaomi markets outside of China and India. I did not suggest "Global" = Every country worldwide.

Also you're wrong that "Global has very poor coverage in a lot of Asian countries"

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LTE_frequency_bands#Deployments_by_region

Click Asia in the top row. LTE bands 1,3,7,8,28,40 are used across Asia. All of which are supported by "Global Version" phones. Japan is the only Asian country that uses multiple unsupported bands and Xiaomi don't sell phones there.

"Global Version" works in all the other countries they sell to. So do you think they should rename it to "Everywhere else we officially sell in" Version just because you think "Global" should mean worldwide coverage?

why so late in india .. no date is confirmed yet.

Bigger display doesn't necessarily mean that the size of the phone is bigger. Yes, the Poco has a smaller display ( 6.18'') but it also has a large notch , big chin and thick bezels from the sides and its display aspect ratio is 18.7:9 making it wider and shorter than the Mi 9T while the 9T has a bigger display ( 6.39'') { 0.21'' inch difference between them , not that big } and has no notch , a very small chin and almost no side bezels and its display aspect ratio is 19.5:9 making it taller and not as wide as the Poco and has better ergonomics and more comfortable to use.

even some much cheaper phones ($100) have better US coverage,
          than this global (lol) thingy.

and yes it may work in some countries,

This "global" has very poor coverage even in a lots of asian countries,
nice .... its just a Shamee!
but global and full coverage is an other thing.

viano, 13 Jun 2019That s wrong... Mi 9T does not support global LTE bands,... moreIt does not only support EU as one other region. Xiaomi started using "Global Version" branding before they even officially started selling in Europe.

Xiaomi phones can be divided into China, India and Global Version. Go Global Mi Site: https://www.mi.com/global/
At the top there's a list of regions. Check the band support of phones in various other regions. Everywhere besides China and India will basically have same bands support as each other hence "Global".

Global Mi 9 SE has the exact same bands Mi 9T and is sold in Mexico and Chile for example:

no, 13 Jun 2019Mi 9T has almost everything better than the Pocophone f1. ... moreHow is bigger display a plus over F1 ? Ok OLED screen i understand is more expensive and efficient for battery but to have bigger screen that make phone even bigger and bigger is not a good thing. A lot of people want all that specs the Mi 9T have on smaller size phone what you can use one handed. Bigger display is only good for people who either play a lot of games or who type long text on there phones. For average user who dont play or type long text this bigger screen is useless as it makes the phone to be a tablet more then phone it's self.

For average people best phone on today understanding of compact phone is Samsung Galaxy A40 with amoled screen and good enough hardware for average people who dont play games or take much pictures and use it more as a communication device. I was hoping that Xiaomi will come out with something that is better on specs then A40 but close to same size and with amoled screen and lower then 220 euro as thats what the A40 cost.

CompactPhones5ever, 13 Jun 2019"The Mi 9T offers a great set of features at an unbelievabl... moreMi 9T has almost everything better than the Pocophone f1.
*Better design ( gradient colors and carbon fiber designs )
*better build quality ( glass back and metal frame )
*better display ( bigger , notchless and nearly bezelless Amoled with no bleeding )
*better cameras ( triple 48MP main + 13MP wide angle + 8MP telephoto for better quality and more versatility )
*better software ( MIUI for Poco was a little buggy and needs more optimizing )
*better battery life ( with newer , more power efficent and underclocked processor + dark mode with Amoled display )
*better audio and speakers ( according to early reviews )
                  *Has NFC
                  Pocophone f1 has only :
*better gaming performance ( better GPU )
*Has IR face unlock ( for more secure face unlocking )
*SD card slot ( but when you have 128GB storage option , will you really need it ? )
*Price ( because it has less features and it's older , it must be cheaper )
                  Both devices have :
*Have 3.5mm jack , USB-C , 18W fast charger in the box , fingerprint sensors ( Poco has it in the back while the Mi 9T has in-display one , based on what you prefer )
*Roughly the same CPU performace ( Mi 9T has better single core performance while Poco has better multi-core performance . very similar performance in daily usage ).

So, don't juge the phone from its performance specs and price as there are many other things you should consider not only SoC type and performance ( BTW both SDM730 and SDM845 have very similar performance in daily usage but the 845 is only better in gaming while the 730 is better in power efficency and Ai ).

Mi 9T does not support global LTE bands,
it only support an other region, EU
(LTE B20 is EU band as well, not global!)
and has only support for few bands as well as the CH version.
                      So nothing with global coverage.
Global version is just a fooling term.

( ... and MY use similar bands, thats why they get the phone this time.)

"The Mi 9T offers a great set of features at an unbelievable price."

It literally doesn't though. Poco F1 offered best available 8xx chipset for 300$, that was 'unbelievable price'. 9T offers midrange 7xx chipset for 370$. The brand has grown, the hype is gone, it was a fun ride while it lasted.
