i admit having blasted sony here for the 21:9 aspect ratio, but after watching this video i went to see an actual xperia 1 at a local retailer here in the philippines (they have pulled out here so no sony mobile stores anymore), and i think i'll get the hang of it. i have tested viewing news websites (because that's what i usually use my phones with) and it is quite enjoyable with the length of the content it can display. i am still reserving my thoughts though, as really natural vision is closer to 4:3 than the wide aspect ratios. i have decided though to order one in the next few days to give it a spin. will write my own thoughts about the phone when i have it.

Many other brands did this before Sony. Motorola Defy was first Android phone with water/dust resistance. Dunno why Sony fanboys keep claiming this.

As a matter of fact I think it has the best 4K video right now with awesome bitrate and it gives you two ways to film it with either Camera app or Cinema Pro and both work so different.

XZ2 owner, 14 Jun 2019I see nothing in these photo samples that makes me want to ... moreStabilization works quite different in default camera app and Cinema Pro. Cinema Pro has much better stabilized 4K video while default app has all the goodies in 1080p. To me it seems like they want you to film in 4K using CP and doing all other video things in Camera.
Slow motion works exactly like on XZ2 no improvements to DRAM for extended periods and you still need lots of light to avoid flicker and noise.

Meanwhile, I'd love to enjoy being one in that '100' to own the best multimedia experience on a smartphone today.
Netflix movies are finally going to be experienced in their native aspect ratio, also at the highest possible resolution and best color reproduction. Major YUCK for that pinhole or notch display of you 100+M people.... Eww!
