travis999, 16 Jun 2019And how long until we have nearly every device totaly locke... moreYou could also flash a suitable SailfishOS (ROM) version to „almost” all Android devices, e.g. I found a port of Google Nexus 4 and 5 which I flashed to those devices. Currently I use Sony Xperia XA devices with latest SailfishOS v3.1 and Android 8.1 layer (dalvik). I don't miss a pure Android OS device, it does feel so old fashioned way of interactions compared to smooth and easy to use SailfishOS. Happy for Huawei and perhaps my next SailfishOS phone :-)

Anonymous, 17 Jun 2019https://youtu.be/hcLLDvq3G7g Jolla sailfish OS 2.0 vs iO... moreWow, you seem to know a lot about SailfishOS! SailfishOS version 2.0 was more than a year ago. Now we're at version 3.1. I don't know what you mean „it needs some work”!?

Anonymous, 16 Jun 2019Anything chinese started dooing they did it better than ame... moreJust tell us one Chinese product better than American. Cheap labor is the reason China is producing that much. And no royalty payment or no IP patent infringement helps china to produce and market their home grown products.

American products are not like of the German/Japanese quality but they are one of the bests and thousands time better than those Chinese craps. All over the world "Chinese stuff" is a common word for things that gets broken fast or of low quality.

Meego or Sailfish OS good decision

Anonymous, 17 Jun 2019https://youtu.be/hcLLDvq3G7g Jolla sailfish OS 2.0 vs iO... moreObviously Sailfish OS needs work. Do you think Sailfish will nr used by Huawei in its current release ? No. You might see Sailfish OS on Huawei smartphones in a couple if years. That's actually plan C. In similar way how Huawei started HongMeng OS development 7 years back and it's seen on devices now, which is plan B.

They dont have to use just one OS!!! Nokia had Symbian phones and Windows... You just learned dont put all your eggs in one basket! Especially and American one. jaja

You need to look for the Chinese cars and how’s bad these cars.

Diamon, 16 Jun 2019its gonna be fail! r.i.p huaweiHow so? You haven't provided any shred of evidence to enlighten us. From what I have gathered the Sailfish OS is pretty stable, and can natively run Android apps. If this is true, the only thing that Huawei's handsets would lack would to come with Google's apps suite preinstalled. Still, the users could access the Google play market, or any of the other Android markets.

Anything chinese started dooing they did it better than americans. This is why almost nothing is produced in usa anymore and usa has to point guns at others to force them to buy usa products. New OS will be better than android, which is not even hard to do. Just remove android layer and use plain linux and it is 2x faster

And how long until we have nearly every device totaly locked down so that there is no chance of flashing rooms or new OS's ?
Glad I have kept my collection of HTC Hd2's in good working condition, can be flashed and boot and run ANYTHING, except flopple software, and even that has probably been done, just kept quiet about. HD2 is still a good basic phone, phones cant do anything more than they did 15 years ago, just faster.

Yes, Sailfish should get back with Nokia and team up with Huawei.
