Again using nokia technology to survive.
Previously they have use nokia's camera department and now Nokia developed os MeeGo which Sailfish OS is evolved from.
Thank god My favourite brand Nokia is still there but i wish HMD Global should create a seperate series with sailfish os instead of Huawei

Anonymous, 15 Jun 2019We badly need alternatives apart from these high and mighty bull... moreBecause China doesn't bully others ? Majority of my Chinese friends who moved from Hong Kong to here don't touch Huawei and most use Apple or Motorola/Lenovo
And they have no intention of going back because they have more freedom here

galaxyS7, 15 Jun 2019Yeah I did ask everyone but I may be missed you. ....Can you detail facts and figures for each European country on here please ?
Customers that weren't interested in Huawei before the ban surely won't be just because of the potential new os , unless Huawei can sort cross platform connectivity for people and businesses who use Google or Microsoft then I'm not sure how many would be willing to even test the water

HMD is a different company using Nokia brand name and Nokia's Smartphone Business, it's also trying to put larger camera sensors with X71 & 8.1 plus. But these are not flagships like 808 or 1020, and are no way comparable.

After reading many comments, my conclusion:

1) Ark OS is for domestic China market
2) Sailfish OS is for international market

I would very much like to try out Sailfish :-D

Anonymous, 15 Jun 2019We badly need alternatives apart from these high and mighty bull... moreI still say a multi national controlled system where a joint decision has to be made before things like this happen, so one country can't dictate to another.

No one country should have sole control over such things

Sailfish too different to ios and android. Something similar to iOS with their transition animation s between apps.

Someone will have a lot to loose out of this.
If this Huawei gamble will not pay off, then itÂ’s not good news for Huawei.
If Huawei gamble pays off, then is not good news for Google. Other companies like Samsung, will try the same approach in the near future.

We badly need alternatives apart from these high and mighty bullying American companies.

But someone outside China might be better.

As an N9 and 808 owner as well as one of the affected devices, seeing Sailfish on a 2019 phone would be perfect, for those apps I might lose I have a tablet.
Shame HMD failed to produce a good enough device to act as 808 replacement, the p30 is acting well in that role.
