Anonymous, 03 Feb 2012"On record" is in writing efefctively and he is t... moreyea he went 'on record' sayin 'WP7 struggles' not specifying the Nokia solely, furthermore, its kinda obvious that any new phone/platform introduced by Nokia is not going to be the No.1 best seller!!
It doesnt take a genius to figure that out !!

Having used a Lumia 800 for the last 3 months now i find it on par 'if' not better than an IOS device and most certainly better than the malware ridden android phones, and yes before you ask i have used both an IP4 and the GS2.

That's actually an outright lie, one of the best selling phones for Telstra was the Mozart 7, it was easy to sell because it, like other windows phones, is easy to use, and appealed to customers who were not tech savvy, and could not afford the equivalent iPhone, But like all Windows phones, it completely dissapeared from the market in Australia, you can only find overstock in stores.

On top of that, sales comission for the iPhone is miserable compared to other handsets, and salespeople would make more money selling a Windows Phone handset from any manufacturer.

TH360, 03 Feb 2012how is it possible that u know that?!?! dont just say somet... more"On record" is in writing efefctively and he is the CEO! So where exactly am I wrong?

Meanwhile, Nokia's CEO, Steven Elop, went on record saying that salesmen are a part of the reason for the WP struggles in the market. According to Elop, the shop assistants aren't doing their best to promote Windows Phone devices, choosing to push other, easier-to-sell platforms instead. Mr. Elop went on to say that the guys and gals in the smartphone shops only "want their commission and tend to only show phones they think might sell".

Nokia Sucks, 03 Feb 2012Poor Elop. He's now blaming the salesmen for the poor sales... morePerhaps if he had done the same, Nokia would not be in the mess they are in now.

very poor judgement from a CEO. a sweeping judgement of people he has never met.

Rohit, 03 Feb 2012I agree with Elop's comments. More than 6 months ago I was ... moreYou are missing the point. The question is why are sales people doing this? At the end of the day they will send what the customer wants that will ideally also make them the most money. In some cases they will sell you something less than ideal for you, to make more money for themsleves. So what Nokia need to do is provide devcies that Sales people atually want to sell. If they are not doing this then Nokia\MS are failing, not the Salesman.

I agree with Elop's comments. More than 6 months ago I was shopping for a smartphone and every shopkeeper I spoke to (atleast in Mumbai) tried to shy me away from a WP7 asking me to go for an Android instead or a BB or even a Bada. The shops are loaded with devices running on android in all shapes and sizes.

I am a Nokia fan boy, but i'm also an objective person, thats why im not in support of elop's statement, when you come down to it wp7 wasn't the right move for nokia, i mean what is wrong with meego? It is way better and more widely accepted than wp7, this is just the result of bad decision making. And i love the fact that Nokia isn't jumping into the android band wagon, Nokia is known for it's uniqueness, it is better left that way.
