Allow customisation, like Symbian. Give me Card slot like SYMBIAN and ANDROID. Don't tie me down or chain my mobile to a PC like Iphone. Lastly, I don't have the luxury or Power to connect to a PC everytime becos am from Africa. Like Android, let me be free to do my thing on MY PHONE.

Poor Elop. He's now blaming the salesmen for the poor sales of Lumia. Next time he will be blaming the customers for choosing Android instead of WP.

Anonymous, 02 Feb 2012you're saying you still use Microsoft office? Libre Office... moreYeeahh... no. MS Office remains the standard in most businesses. There is still no office suite as powerful and capable. And Office Live! + Office 365 are more than a match for Google Docs.

When I was selling cameras my Canon rep gave me resources to make a photobook, so as better to show of Canon's range of cameras and printers.

AnonD-23574, 02 Feb 2012Excuse me. I have owned Symbian (Nokia and Sony Ericsson), ... moreI think you're ignoring the popularity of iPhone. It succeeded because the few things it did, it did really really well. Many smartphone users aren't fussed if they can't change the launcher or store their whole music collection - they just want a capable device.

Clearly WP7 is not for *you*. But for the majority of smartphone users it really serves their needs well.

Customer service suffers, but that's nothing new!

It is the purse that MS made from the sows ear that was Windows Mobile - unfortunately, it's never been easy to sell products with that legacy on their own strengths and everyone else has a better marketing team.

One thing is for sure now. Nokia have confirmed in writing, direct from their leader, they are having major problems selling phones with WP7 on them. Thus Mr. Elop has confirmed he made the wrong decision to go with WP7. So in essence he is admitting that thus far he has failed in his strategic direction for the company. Any way I look at that, whatever my personal phone preferences, he should be dismissed for failing to carry put his job properly.

Hi,can someone point me to the Article where Elop moans about Lumia phone sales.

May I add why would Nokia go with Android what would make them different from HTC or Samsung who pump out a phone at the rate of 1 a month at higher and lower scale but all basically look the same.

Now there next sales trick is quad core because there is nothing else to sell with ICS that looks like a windows and Apple knock off. Quad core on a phone to do what? Oh yeah so finally the OS will run smooth.

My anticipation for the Lumia 900 dropped quite a bit when I heard about the Lumia 910.

                            I think I'll wait until it's released before I think about a WP7 device.

The only thing that is excellent in meego is the swipe and the sound of auidio. the rest is ... well ordinary. Go for Nokia Belle for full freedom or go for Lumia if you want speed and total control of a working smart phone.

It is sad to read that Steven Elop would blame the salespeople for the WP struggles. I agree with GSMARENA that it is ridiculous and the reason to back it up. If anything Nokia should look at Apple or Samsung in how they are doing so well. Nokia should stop putting all the blame on others and spend that time promoting the Lumia 900. Let the phone's unique design and OS updates do the talking.
