Sony is way way behind Samsung on the phone sector... They will not catch them.
They will need to concentrate on how to make god quality phones moving in the market.

Anonymous, 21 Jun 2019Not even closeWhat is not even close?Do u not see the headphone jacks on them???

Max J is the Samsung news blogger, do you believe he corcern any Sony news!? It must be fake.

--voltaire9, 21 Jun 2019Xperia 10 and 10 plus have it sooo...I was talking about flagships. Xperia 10 and 10 plus aren't really competitive.

That's not a Sony phone or a design from Sony.

I agree with using multiple cameras but I think the company can think more about the design. I think they can use one larger circular piece with six holes, and embed six sets of lens into it. I think six individual cameras is better then one larger single one on smartphone, yet the outlook of six individual cameras on a surface is not so nice IMO.

Anonymous, 19 Jun 2019Aperture changes according to focal length and sensor size.... moreCan you read???
I replied to the comment comparing how small a phone f1.8 was compared to a DSLR f8.
But in reality that phone f1.8 will still perform better in low light. That's what I said. And again that even f3 would often fail in a DSLR compared to a phone f1.5 or f1.8.

Stop rambling in your own arrogance thinking you need to teach me something just because you continually miss the point.
And the p20 doesn't even come close to whiping the floor in low light.

Anonymous, 19 Jun 2019No. Youre missing the point. Get over yourself and stop thi... moreAperture changes according to focal length and sensor size.

The f1.8 of cellphones cameras does not have same diameter of f1.8 of Full Frame. It is smaller., many times smaller The aperture diameter cellphones are not even 6mm at f1.6.

Explain me why P20 Pro with f1.8 wipes the floor with S9+ that uses f1.5 even without night mode. Bigger sensor does not need bigger aperture to have same exposure of smaller sensor.

F.1.6 on 1/2.6" is not necessarily bigger than f2.0 on bigger sensor. You have to check the diameter, not the f value alone. It can be bigger, but it can be smaller too.
This is what I am telling but you refuse to believe.

Go to any online store like Amazon or B&H and check the lenses of Micro 4/3. For example a 25mm f2.0 will be described as 25mm f2.0 (50mm f4 FF equiv) ... Crop factor is 2 for M4/3.

Crop factor of 1/2.55" is 6 or 7 compared to FF.

Months ago someone posted on wikipedia page of Exmor a sensor called imx666. When news started to spread before MWC it was removed.

It was told to be 66.6MP total but only 48MP (4:3), 42.6MP (16:9) and 35,6MP (21:9) ... (No sensor uses all total resolution because lens is circle while sensor is rectangular, edges are "lost")

It was also listed to have DRAM inside and dated as April/2019. Size was described as 1/1.8" but someone told me the sensor was real but still prototype , size would be 1/1.5" instead.

Shatalizer, 19 Jun 2019Go for it Sony! Hope you will have the best camera phone on... moreMight as well ramp up their battery capacity to 4,000 mAh at least for better battery endurance since sony have great battery optimization already. Based on youtube videos i've watched all sony cameras have weak dynamic range. hoping they will fix it since it's a long time problem with their cam software algorithm.

The point was that clearly that phone sensor with f1.5 or f1.8 is going to get a much better low light image than a slr with f8. Heck in many cases better than with f3 let alone 8.

And you are sitting here instead just going on rambling in your own glory about non sense.

By the end of 2020, the back panel of the phone may be full of cameras.... 20 lenses, 35 lenses and so on...

                                      I'm doing some guesswork here...
I think we'll have multiple telephoto lenses. one at 2x, other at 3x or 5x or so.
2 cameras may be able to shoot in 3D video/pic, out of which one (12MP f1.2/ 2.4) may be Black & White for added pixel size and quality. "The dark time shooter". And of course, a wide angle too.

It seems Sony is furious at people commenting on their mobile cameras. They're out on kill mode, probably.
Let's hope this phone has good audio quality though.

Go for it Sony! Hope you will have the best camera phone on the market next time! But please bring the headphone jack back!
