SoSi, 03 Feb 2012Sad to make you disappointed. iPhone3Gs and iPhone4 users ... moreI agree,
Apple is far more in time than all different vendors of Android (According to the updating roadmaps, published by them)
After ICS was released, still none have created their custom ROM.
THe difference is that Apple is a Soft/Hardware company and Sammy et. al are all Hardware only (reserve for a slight effort on BADA).
Anyway, it takes less time for DEV-TEAM (unofficial developers of apple) to jailbreak and tweak the whole OS experience on iOS than for the gigantic Sony to release the update for it's current GB phones

iPhone3Gs and iPhone4 users get to download iOS5 on the night before iPhone4s officially launch with iOS5.

Now with a twists iPhone3G user can upgrade to iOS5.
Should I complain, "why there is no iOS5 upgrade for original iPhone?"

the companies like htc, samsung,lg,motorola, sony should better pay attention in upgrading android gingerbread to icecream sandwich, otherwise nokia(win phone)will take the lead.most of this companies are interest in hardware upgradation.i.e.dual core to quad core which is useless, because current apps work only on single core.the brands should focus themselves on software update rather than hardware update.if the lack of software update continues, the brands will be going to loose their consumers.3 months have been passed, releasing 4.0 still there is no update available, only promises are given.......

People complaining about updates should use their brain and google around to have latest roms on their mobiles. I'm currently using the lastest leaked version of 2.3.6 on my Galaxy S. It has face unclock feature too. ;-)

                          Try using xda-developers.com's forums.

It is easy to be up to date etc. when you have either very little market share and not that many devides and just dump old ones completely or in the case of Apple just one phone.

hmm.. according to these numbers, ice cream sandwich had 0.3% market share in October, despite not even being available until November 17, 2011.

wow, that's something to be proud of - 99% of android's customer base is using outdated software that was developed 14 months ago. Talk about keeping with the latest advances in technology .

Actually this doesn't seem so bad IMHO. 86% of the phone (as opposed to tablets running Honeycomb) O/S are on what is, realistically, still the latest or only one version behind. Let's not forget their is only one fully offical native ICS phone available at this time and it is less than 3 months old. Hence its low share at this time. Also don't forget Gingerbread has only been around just over a year. I agree fewer devices should be running Froyo and should be on Gingerbread, or in a perfect world ICS, by now but I really don't see the market figures as that bad as some people like to portray.
