vem, 25 Jun 2019Yep, you are correct. Thanks for spotting and correcting. No problem.
Fun fact: In French, you would have been saying FinFart. (Pet means fart in French. Or more exactly it would have been meaning Thin Fart.) I had to say that because when I read your comment it came to me

Panda eyes, 24 Jun 2019It lacks an ambient light sensor? It seems so.
It has an option in Settings, but uses front camera. Samsung calls it 'Virtual Light Sensing'. Comparing to regular sensor it's probably slower and more power consuming. You can check A30 and M30 manuals, in M30 manual there's no light sensor shown on schematic image.

The specs are very similair to the m30 besides an extra depth sensor and 1000mah more battery but the a30 comes with one ui and android 9 and will most likely recieve two updates, m30 maybe one. Is the a30 a better buy, or the extra battery worth it for the m30

Check the specs, on all Samsung official sites there are 1.8/1.6 GHz in description that corresponds to 7904, for 7885 it should be 2.2/1.6 GHz.
Basically 7904 = a bit slowed down 7885, I think not all software yet can recognize this chipset (I know that for A40 antutu tells 7885 and aida64 7904 for example).

Anonymous, 24 Jun 2019Aren't 7885 and 7904 basically the same?Basically, they are the same, but 7885 is an early 2018 chip-set, but 7904 is released this year. Other than the above, I have no info on these two. So, after seeing your question, I googled and read about the differences of these two chip-sets. Looks like 7885 (12nm FinPet) might be older but has better CPU performance than 7904 (14nm FinPet). The narrower manufacturing process will translate into enhanced performance and thus provides access to a better performance in 7885 and lower power consumption. Though, 7904 is a better option than 7885 when compared based on the camera improvements (this is chip-set to chip-set comparison and not between the phones that possess these chip-sets, as we cannot be sure if the phones using these chip-sets are actually taking full advantage of what the chip-sets are offering or not).
