Nokia 3110 Evolve is not that evolved

4 Dec, 2007
At the Nokia World 2007 event held in Amsterdam Nokia announced today the Nokia 3110 Evolve handset. It's a rather strange ofering as it doesn't really offer any evolution as compared to the Nokia...

What a disingenuous and dare I say spiteful "review". You are obviously allowing your lack of an invitation to affect your tone.

Reducing the ecological footprint of electronic devices is significant, much more so than typical "evolutionary" steps of making the case skinnier or UI prettier.

How about forgetting the invitation slight and engaging in a little objective journalism? You'd be taking the higher ground and garnering respect for doing so.

nokia is really an expert in recycling.

    recycling trash, that is.

3110 "evolve", yeah right, how evolved is it from its previous incarnation? recycling is not evolution.

now, if only nokia would make an n95 "evolve", made from dark chocolate, now, that would be something.

The Nokia's call of 3110 classic "evolve" even though it has nothing to offer new clearly states how they want to fool people :(

nyways, i've decided not to buy any nokia product anymore. they act so high and mighty and their products are overpriced.

Its nice that nokia care about enviroment.
But why not n82? Coz u know, after u bought n82, u will throw ur n82 to garbage coz n82 just another blunder from nokia.

for all of you who think that this is a bad thing- allot of the process used to make the components of the phones are using very toxic chemicals- almost all the element from the periodic table are used at this moment and not just for the phone parts for every gadget

At least they're trying. That's a lot more than what most people are doing. And there lies the problem, everyone is so self absorbed and worried about what they want and not thinking about what they can give. I applaud Nokia for taking the first step.

Nokia really aint contributing to this enviroment thing
with most nokias in this world with BAD battery life ...

Yeah thats not saving energy is it !!

For everyone bashing Nokia over the "evolve" phone, maybe you should get your facts straight first...taken from phonescoop..."The 3110 helps the environment with covers that use over 50% bio-sourced materials and a charger that consumes 94% less energy than Energy Star requirements when left plugged in but unattached to a phone. The charger is compatible with all new Nokia phones and will be included with more models in the future."
So how about that??? Nokia really sucks! I can't believe they want to help the environment.
