Before making such a bold remark, one should consider Huawei do not need to design the interface from scratch. They have 2 interfaces to reference from. That will save them a lot of time

Well it's not just about parts made in the US. For Example the Kirin SoC uses ARM patents and part of the ARM patents is owned by their US division, therefor they won't be able to use that part of the technology.
