Whackcar, 30 Jun 2019There were some pitiful few who thought Huawei was dead. ... moreDefinitely yes, I think it's actually bad news for Samsung, because that's the target Huawei sets in smartphone world. The ban would have set a halt on worldwide sales in my opinion of which Samsung would have taken advantage of.

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2019Don't worry i am waiting for Pie update for my Samsung as well.Which device? I already got it on my Note8 and Note FE, as well as my Nokia 5.1 Plus.

There were some pitiful few who thought Huawei was dead.

Now Huawei is only gonna grow bigger and aim higher.

It's US that made an attempt to mess up Huawei and ended up realising it would affect US companies significantly. His message was indeed very clear: "In order to beat China, I won't hesitate turning my country INTO China"

If Huawei stops the development of their own os then they deserve their own fate. Even if they will get back to making Android phones they should release also phones with their own os

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2019Yes, consumers will just move to Samsung, Oppo, Xioami or w... moreyou're very wrong on that note, Nokia did not survive with Windows because the WindowStore was more greedy than Apple's App Store, and Android was on the rise during that period, Huawei can survive without Google support since a lot of users nowadays specially techgeeks wants to get rid of Android and even Google support coz of the personal datas being used

US companies did not bleed? as you can see, a lot of companies made a way and there are still some of them trying to get back with Huawei coz Huawei has a lot of potential to take down Samsung in the top spot, and those companies lost millions and even billions of worth when Trump made his s2pd move and then just lifted it after seeing US GDP go down

"why would Trump thinks about China to spy average Americans?
                            Doesn't make sense at all"

He's true. Because the US are nothing to be spied for.

BigDisplay, 29 Jun 2019This ban was actually good for the world especially China, ... moreGetting rid of American spyware would be nice. But substituting it with Chinese spyware is the dumbest idea ever.

                                Great news for Huawei.

I was real negative towards the Chinese brands when the Huawei ban happened. I came to realize how much I love my Xiaomi Mi 3 from 2014. It's still very solid after five years. The battery isn't even that degraded and it never gets hot. I still don't like MIUI as much as the Pixel experience but it's totally fine..

I mentioned this because it made me want to try out Huawei eventually. EMUI is a MIUI clone but the software is still quite optimized and the hardware is excellent for the price.

Kevin T, 29 Jun 2019lol Huawei was suffering Us companies weren't if Huawei ... moreThe fact is that China became a manufacturing giant because of the low wages and almost no regulations on manufacturers by the Chinese government.

In this new age of sell all your ethics for profit, USA companies were more than happy to move manufacturing from high cost countries those with lower costs.

For example, the Japanese electronic industry in the 1980s. In 1985, Japan shipped 13.4 million color televisions. The top five television producers (televisions per year) in the late 1980s were: 1) Japan (13,275,000); 2) the United States (12,084,000); 3) former USSR (8,578,000); 4) South Korea (7,641,000); and 5) China (6,840,000).

As for mobile phones, with the slowing of phone sales and the continued expansion of manufacturing capacity, it's not as if there aren't other options. But again, companies don't want to change because of the cost.

Interestingly, a no-show on this list is India. Once the Indian Government makes it easier for foreign manufactures to do business on a global scale in India, they will move toward the top of the list.

Given the choice between India and China, I would prefer India. The Chinese government is doing everything (ethically and unethically) possible to position Chinese companies and resources as preferred suppliers across the globe.
