If you have one camera, you should have ois. Also, with an 855+ there should be a 5g version. 5g will reduce lag and in 2 years phones without it will be at a disadvantage gaming unless on wifi.

Without benchmark result, temperature testing would be invalid. having internal cooling does not mean that it won't hit max temp. In fact, it would still hit max temp but it would have boosted higher than than of passively cooled phones. That's the reason why temperature readout alone is not a valid test. Also having internal active cooling would mean consistency on frame rates regardless of ambient temps, other phones would struggle to maintain 60FPS on summer heat.

Yes, I do need USB 3.0, I use my phone as dash cam recording 1080p60 video during my 2hours combined daily commute. Having a USB 3.0 interface won't hurt.

Well Samsung have so many useless add-ons its no surprise they ended at place of 10.
But still a great phone for someone who doesnt care its a super higly overpriced.

Then some teardowns have revealed that the fan isn't in direct contact with the SoC's room so I'm not surprised. There are like 2 layers separating them.
You must be using USB a lot if 3.0 matters to you, speaking for myself, I connect my phone to my PC only once a year, when I'm changing phone.

On their respective price points (significantly cheaper than *cough* Razer and Asus *cough*) and gaming category, I would prefer having this phone not only because it has proper cooling but because it has USB 3.0 implementation. Xiaomi's Blackshark, K20 series, Mi 9 and the Meitu were laughable as they can't even integrate a fast USB port (still USB 2.0). Faster I/O is still relevant, and when you need it, you really need it and at their price points, they should have USB 3.0 at least.

When is somebody going to properly deeply test the camera and 8k video in particular? With talk about 8k and high end slow motion being upscaled, and the way support is, I don't trust buying it.

And does this really matter in the grand scheme of things? Who cares what phone is the "fastest" at any given point in time? Just means another will come along to surpass it.

Yet there isn't a lot of love for the phone over at XDA because many have found the software sucks. Is ZTE going to get its act together and fix it, or waste what could be an otherwise decent phone?

for under 500 euro i would buy it if it wasnt so big

The nubia Red Magic 3's GPU might be overclocked and it might use a different file system, it scores really high in GPU and MEM.

                                Antutu love for the Chinese

The question is, was all phones with 8gb ram? 12 or 6? Hmm

As expected but too bad the Global ROM is only getting like...1 update to remove beta from the 8K camera and MAYBE add back the things that made the China ROM good (system-wide dark theme and being able to alter the refresh rate come to mind). Software-wise, while bills vanilla Android is nice, it's very bare-bones.

Hardware-wise, it's the best phone this year so far for its price. Front-facing stereo speakers, giant battery, headphone jack with 32-bit DAC, 90Hz AMOLED panel, 12GB of RAM, 256GB hard drive, and a cooling system that is unrivaled so that the processor never heats up. It's all really good despite missing expandable memory.
