ADI, 07 Jul 2019I also love HTC devices a lot. Since you have Htc U12+, How... moreThe battery life became decent after the initial update. I use mine hard, and the battery life is on par with the S1 Plus, and better than my recently refreshed iPhone 6S Plus. If I chose not to binge watch movies and YouTube, and spend less time gaming (I actually have a friend who comes over for mobile gaming sessions), then I can go two days on one charge without power saving modes.
The buttons that reviewers initially hated are now a delight to use, and I often find myself "clicking" them because they feel good. The click of course is the haptic motor, which is almost identical to the wonderful Pixel 3. I've pulled the haptic motors apart from both the U12+ and the Pixel 3, and the HTC one is higher quality.
Overall, I just bought the iPhone XS a couple weeks ago, and the U12 is still better.

Got the update this morning, actually two security updates followed by the Pie upgrade. It took them too long, but I have to say the update looks very polished. Apps which did not play well with split screen are fine now, even the dialer. One big surprise: Screen brightness! 70% screen brightness is about what maximum used to be, and turning it all the way up hurts my eyes! Makes me wish I had taken measurements with my light meter before the update. I was ok with the old maximum brightness, but I'm not gonna complain! I'll have to check and see if the U12 is still faster than the S10, as the animations have been increased.

Anonymous, 03 Jul 2019I really needed Wi-Fi calling on my U12+ due to poor signal... morewi-fi call is an operator option. Your network operator should provide wi-fi call option for htc U12+. I saw the wi-fi call setings in call options menu on the htc u12+ used in network which accept this for your phone.

Anonymous, 02 Jul 2019This comment here is exactly why technology is going to hel... moreI really needed Wi-Fi calling on my U12+ due to poor signal indoors where I live, which I thought Pie might bring with it (despite the U11 on Oreo having it), and I just got tired of waiting.
Upgraded to a OnePlus 7 Pro 5G at the end of May, haven't looked back.

This is sad... ANdroid Pie, almost 1-1.5 years after releasing the device. Im a big HTC fan... but im giving up, they have also given up on so many sales channels. Their phones dont even make it to Africa anymore. I had hope for a turn around like Nokia have, who are doing great since they ditched custom skins and went the route of Android one for their software. No bloat, regular updates. But HTC is done.. and if they fight it they way they are, nature will extinguish them by force.... stubborn is good if you're a market leader. not anymore. they could give themselves a fighting chance... but instead of switching up their software skin with stock Android one, and adapting their hardware designs to te 21st century, they go and release a blockhain phone,,... and now announce a successor.... shaking my head. sadly, HTC, you're doing all the wrong things to seal the coffin

I love my U12 plus, it is over all other brands. This is not a brand for everybody. And the OS is very clean. I will stay with HTC until the end of it.

Who even buys HTC phones anymore 😂 Samsung, Pixel and Xiaomi make much better mid range and flagships. LG and Sony will soon follow HTCs fate. Sony even admitted it runs at a huge loss and will continue to stay in the smartphone market just to market themselves for their other products eg. Tv, audio etc. LG just lost the plot completely bat one stage it was Samsung's only competition in the Android space, now it's non existent.

Hardly a year old flagship phone getting it's first OS update after ONE year. Other day, everybody was bashing Nokia for NOT providing it's second OS update, PIE to Nokia 2, two year old low end phone!

From Android 8 to 9, what is honestly ONE new feature that you couldn't live without in Android 8? I'll wait.
