Puffin OS promises to make sub-$100 phones as fast as flagships with the cloud

Cloud-powered acceleration will speed up the web apps that Puffin runs. That's the claim, anyway, but CloudMosa isn't telling the whole story.

Who are they targeting?

If developing countries, just forget about it. For one, the internet connection and speed will be poor. So the functionality will be limited. Second, not many will be willing to pay a monthly fee. Those who can pay $2 a month will probably use better phone.

There is no point targeting developed countries. They have these installment plans making it easy to buy even the most expensive phones. So why the hell would they want to go with a very low end phone.

I am not an expert in the subject, but hope they did the proper research.

    Uh... no. IE costed money at first when the only way to get it was with Win95 Plus! but it always remained free afterwards. Bundled for free with OSR1? Desktop Update? Win98? Every subsequent Windows? It led to the very big MS Antitrust lawsuit??? Was a free download on Mac too? All that was way before Mozilla.

          This going to be interesting for basic use.
          But i dont think a 100 eur device would ever run smoothly fortnite or Clash of Lords or Legendary game of heroes or any other great game such as forge of empires etc.

            Haha, stealing data is not enough, they want to even own your data. As for faster then a flagship? Yeah right, what happens when in your are their is no signal or a very weak one? Bam puffin gone wrong.

              Having all-cloud app phone is like having house without bed, no water and no food inside and use hotels and restaurant to eat and sleep...

                This os makes cheap phones as fast as flagships. So if they use it with flagship will it become as fast as desktops?
