My Nokia 701's battery lasts w/o a problem 3 days with lots of browsing, mail checking and talking. Which of the comparable android phones could do this?

After iPhone, all phones went really bad. That true phones for working like N95,N96,N82,E65 aren't making now. I can't work!! All phones now have touch screens so it means that I work slower, cant send sms quickly that I need to do it a lot. I know I can buy old N82 or N95, but they are too old for nowadays, and I don't know, why Nokia (the leader of Nontouch-screen) went to touchscreen phones, that are made more for fun/entertainment??? Ok, for first time, touchscreen was interesting, but for those people who need to work they cant do that well on them. PLEASE, Nokia PLEASE make a 2012's N95 Phone, just faster, better screen, nice style, and it will be the most selling phone in 2012. I would tell, that I'm not lying, you can still be the best phone maker ever. For a long time.

Im a sorry but how is it that there are still Symbian fans out there. How can you say that Symbian is better than Android or anything else out there? I am or "was" one of the biggest Nokia/ Symbian fans out there but after jumping to Android I notice how bad Symbian is. I was so much of a Nokia fan that I purchased the Nokia N8 when it was first released only to return it 3 weeks after. Symbian was good before smartphones gained touch screens and were operated via touchpad. Im sorry but Symbian no more. I do wish that Nokia would of kept working on MeeGo. That OS sure held some promise. My favorite Symbian Smartphone were the N95 and N96 after that its all been awful.

Android is good at handling h/w,proven already. Memory management is best among all mobile o/s with ICS, not even ios5 is close . If you are unaware then get the fact.

Galaxy Ace runs GB2.3.x , oh and also the ICS port too, very very efficiently and please no comparision. yes it runs on 800mhz

Probably you are too ignorant to notice that X10 mini runs on 600 MHz ARM 11, as smooth as anything, oh yes on 128 MB ram.
I know u need proof. so here you go..

I know that a lot people dont know why Nokia has abandoned Symbian, they could make more more more upadates work hard on it and it would be the best! Nokia N8(my favorite phone) + Symbian^5 = awesome! Lumia or any new Nokia + Windows Phone = Any Android (SGS2) is better. Nokia, dont abandon Symbian, such a good OS, even if not much games and apps..

                          • S
                          • Symbian^3 could be..

Symbian could be saved, and it would be definetely better than Android, because Symbian ^5 is better than Android 2.2 or even its = 2.3, but there are very less updates in it, and its just too slow for users of smartphones, so they prefer a bad OS but with updates and apps. Yeah, Symbian could really be the best OS, if it had more features and more apps+games.... Just needed to ask Gameloft to make apps for it ^^

blueglue, 10 Feb 2012The way you treat android is the way i treat symbian. so ho... moreWhat I think of Android......
                            Thanks for asking..

I think Android does not have the capability to utilise the hardware at its disposal to its full capability....
this it has to learn from Symbian, how to do that...

Android does not have a proper secure file system....this should again be Symbian thing....

Android, memory optimisation is messy, leaving it fragmented...this again needs to taken from Symbian..

Android does not have a proper scheduler for its processes...leaving too much battery drainage(check your device's battery comsumption, more than 30% would be Android)... again something that it needs to adopt from Symbian....

being flashy and jazzy cannot makeup for the lag in core optimisation. Android is a OS with huge capabilities.. but even if its UI is more attractive and the platform easier for app dev, the entire concept of HW and SW optimisation seems to be a dream word for the Android community....
Everybody can do anything when there is plenty of resources at hand...the main task is when you dont , then what happens.....

Try to run Android on a 680Mhz ARM11 processor with 256MB RAM....if it runs as smooth as belle(or even boot), then I will take back all my words.....

the major problem with the symbian was that it remained same from 2004 to 2011 without much change.if they had brought in symbian ^4 or now called belle in 2010 .android should not have existed.

I am not saying overclocking is a need, its an option. an option which bunch of intelligent guys(not like me though :)) have used within safer limits to get the best out.

as some one replied to my post below ,"Every OS has their own weakness. Symbian and android is not perfect." i am hinting at the weakness of symbian.
Accept it or not, android has become the yardstick for mobile o/s. it has raised the bar, its up to others to reach it, beat it. i'll never say its invincible, i wish to see good competition. so that i (user) benefits. competition at times yeilds innovation
if you have the mind to accept it and fight back, i wish you good luck. else ,go dance with your bella ,carla , donna.. next?

We are here to discuss the capabilities, can you do that or not?. secondly, you have least or no idea abt the controlled way of overclocking and extracting the best out of cpu, apart from that there are governers, i/o schedulers , other tweaks which right at the moment android only allows customisation. i am talking about changing the entire Kernel here.

if something is useless to you doesnt mean it has no value. hope you are sensible to agree.

Android is like a rockstar....everybody notices and praises him, even though he is not capable enough...

Overclocking is not necessary normally.... understand that when a Chipset maker releases the chip, it employs thousands of people who can make the chip run as fast as possible with optimal performance of battery and speed....
if you think that you can do better than them...then best of luck...
