The SM-A720S is receiving One UI in a beta program, and the Wi-Fi Alliance confirms the Android Pie for all variants of the A7 2017.

There's a good chance A 2017 series will get pie because some SOC is shared and Exynos 788x platform is too. Recently A7 2017 got certified with Pie, so fingers crossed!

And then people rush to say that Samsung sucks. The fact they care to update such budget phones to Pie and One IU is nothing short than impressive. IDK what other company that's not Google or Apple does this with their phones. Huawei might be aiming for first place, but they are far from the same kind of support unless you got a Flagship.

Nope. The A5 2017 came out in January whereas the J5 was released later in June. Since updates are highly co-related with release dates, its not a given that phones released before june will receive 9.0.
