LordJESUS, 11 Jul 2019Apple take your pills and make iPhones great again...They can't. Because Tim lack enthusiasm on design, while apple design is always been trendsetter in the past. After Jobs-era, lot of designers in Apple only thinking to come up with design that follows the current trends in the market (example: bigger screen, more android-like UI) and apple forgot that "apple" brand is a symbol of trendsetter in tech and always has unique, stylish design emphasize on aesthetic design, lot of people saying after iphone 5 (after Jobs died) apple design has lost its aesthetic feels. Now to make things worse, Johny Ive now left from apple too.

Fingerprint sensor under the display is much better than FaceID, not only it doesn't work properly half of the time but some people have security and privacy concers.
And a smaller notch is still a notch, but I reckon this is just a quick redesign before iPhones go full screen in 2021.

Current FaceID is pretty bad.
It has to be used at a certain orientation, because Apple hasn't written the code to let the phone know from the gyro which direction the camera is facing. Not to mention also a limited angle and lighting conditions.
I hope they fix this.
Then maybe adopt TouchID under the display. And maybe somewhat revolutionary, offer an extra Setting to use Double-Security where it needs correct authentication from both TouchID and FaceID at the same time.
The punch-hole display will be kinda bad, but that can be forgivable. The real downer is the weird aspect ratio they stick with 18:9 or 20:9, but not 16:9 or 21:9. It makes the display unnecessarily small whilst making the phone unnecessarily big; the worst of both worlds.
The rear camera hump is going to be an eyesore. It will also be vulnerable. And be very annoying when rocking on the table. And let's not forget the Lightning port, which either needs an upgrade to "Flash port" to increase charging speeds (min 24W - max 84W) and increase data speeds (min 10Gbps - max 50Gbps). Otherwise, switch over to USB 3.1-TypeC like the flagship competitors.
Maybe in 2021.... we will get an iPhone Y (or XII, or 12), and it will have proper 5G connection, with a proper 21:9 fullscreen display, underscreen TouchID and underscreen Selfie Cam, a much better reversible port for Charging/Syncing, reversible Wireless Charger, and have a completely flush rear (like the LG G8, where the camera is under the backplate).
Maybe, but I'm not holding my breath for Apple.

Doc Faust, 11 Jul 2019With current UI controls and silly gestures on the new gene... moreInteresting. I do use an iPhone Xs Max. Honestly, the gestures are so easy and seamless that is come naturally. Sure if you were on a totally touch and click environment and when you move on to gestures, it might get a little uncomfortable at first. but you get used to it in less than a week.
The face unlock thing. It really is unbelievable. Doesnt matter what kind of an environment it is. It just works.

Current width of any of the iPhone's notch is so wide that if they increase it by half a inch from both the sides, it will become.... bezel!

Apple almost never innovates, but they are very good at taking existing things and improve them for everyone's needs.
Of course, there's price for that and it's very high, but if we look on market prices then even Chinese brands are start to make 1000 dollar phones nowadays, what would sound unbelievable 5 years ago.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2019LOL, 2+ years behind the rest, as always (Minus the prices,... moreSay what you want about Apple, at least they're 2 years AHEAD when it comes to phone sizes... Apple is basically the only company focusing mostly on western markets so they have plenty of phones around ~140mm height, while other brands focus on Asian markets with overgrown 160mm phablets.
I never really liked Apple but as so many Android-based manufacturers are unable to provide ANY compact phone alternativies, I'm starting to consider iPhone as well...

With current UI controls and silly gestures on the new generation of the iphones starting the X, the ios is the worst thing on any mobile device.
The iphone owners will say they get used to it, but you can get used to anything. I've seen how the iphone users work with their devices, they try to downplay it but they do struggle with the devices. Or maybe they like spending their time moving fingers all over the mobile screen just to perform the most basic actions?
My old iphone 5s is dying soon, but it's android for me after that.
