It is extremely stupid to approve these kind of patents having broad aspects. A patent should be for one aspect alone. & there should also a working prototype to show it.

i agree innovation but these patents are not genuine.even nokia and sony phones had this feature.
Old players like nokia,sony,motorola can collectly sue apple as it was never a mobile phone company before.example-in call timer.stopwatch,compass etccc lot of things.they can make apple miserable

apple is actually afraid of competition since they in the battle b/w s2 and 4s.
they really are not sensible in suing Samsung on voice commands. Samsung had them way long back before did. Apple is not the only innovator. Android interface design is tes much different from iOS. Just don't know what the apple guys are upto. Get a life apple.

The real problem here is the possibility to paten such things. If the USA allow you to patent everything, in few years the moore's law won't be valid any more.

If the Galaxy Nexus does not com to South Africa because of this I will spit on every iPhone I see. Apple get over yourselves rather have some competition so you guys can make better phones because lets face it your phones are so boring including the iOS

On topic, this is why I detest Apple so much. Sure, they have OK (but overpriced) products, they contributed to the technology we have today, but their actions speak a lot about their ethics (or lack of therefor) and their principals. Too bad loyal subjects have their ears covered.

The features are soooo basic that even an old SE has that (Despite the face unlock). The Apple n patent companies should just stop doing these shits really!

Err... Did anyone patent the fact that their device can be held by a human hand? These law suits were fun to watch initially, but it really becomes pretty annoying and retarted over time.
