Eventually they will hide comments that do not agree with the narrative. American-owned discussion forums like reddit.com is already doing this -- you even have to use specific sorting criteria to dig out certain replies or posts, or they are simply not visible in the thread.

The reason instagram existed was for pictures. In reality they need to keep like and dislike and remove comments. Anyone reads Celebs' commentators??

Their users ... moreI actually prefer Instagram over Facebook. it's not cluttered with notifications, posts that others liked (because this is completely separate from your feed), free from "news" that people shared or liked and are being passed as "real news". Just don't follow the "influencers" or "Instagram models" and you're good.

In my opinion, Instagram is only useful for when you are feeling "romantic", are alone, and have a spare 5 mins. Your mileage may vary.

the only people this will affect are the narcasistic people out there, who place likes as some sort of self importance in their lives, the influencer argument is stupid, companies use alsorts of tracking methods on accounts to see your fanbase, likes are just a small piece of a larger database, once you have a business profile you get all sorts of analytical data to viewed so this will not affect them one bit, personally i think they should just remove likes all together
