But I guess it is their least bad attempt to try to make uninteresting products inciting to insecure people, by claiming/inferring some social status gained by their junk. Same idea used in the rest of the fashion industry.

Well to be exact in my case and in case of thousdants of my customers best bang for bucks always wins because here in Slovakia with 600 euros average salary from which half goes to bills means just one things.
Best specs for lowest possible price thus phones like doogee, Xiaomi or cheap Samsung , Huawei would win.
But in ou case it will be xiaomi for brand name which is now well known and specs which are awesome for asking price.
But my personal favorites are phones with clean android free of any mess or fuss such as Xiaomi A series, Motorola series or Nokia series. Thats it.

Motorola makes reliable handset that do not slow down over time. Using it since ages. I love this brand

My brand loyalty definitely goes with Samsung, I have several phones from S4 to S7, family members have S8s, I have 2 TVs, soundbar, Smartwatch, tablet and I never had a single problem with any of their products. My S4 was 4 years old till I drowned it (what a wonderful machine that was), S7 going 3 years and I have a strong feeling it will work to eternity. With these positive experiences, you don´t even hesitate what to buy as the next phone.

Anonymous, 21 Jul 2019Samsung ads can be disabledThough it can, it is a bit technical, so the ordinary user just accepts all the bloat.

But even without rooting a LOT can be disabled just requiring a pc and a usb-cable, and a free Google program ADB. See e.g. https://eskerahn.dk/?p=2462

I went iOS from BlackBerry 10 and have stayed there. I like the consistency in interface and Facetime just works. Before BB10, our family used Nokia Symbian phones.

This year I purposely got the Xr over the Xs because of the low frequency pwm on Apple's AMOLED displays. They need to fix this serious usability issue on their AMOLEDs or I will jump ship to Android.

Abhi, 21 Jul 2019I guess the GSMA Team forgot to mention an important point ... morePixels do not have scroll down notification bar from anywhere while many other Android brands have. Samsung had multi windows before others. There is huge variation in the Android experience for different Android brands.

Since my very first smartphone, the iPhone 4, I haven’t used anything else but iPhones or iPads. During all those years I have tried several Androids but I liked none of them despite the fact that they come with more (useless) features.

The reasons I prefer Apple devices are many. To me having an iPhone means that I can hold to it for 5 years and still get OS updates. Also iPhones and iPads are really well made and last long.

Another reason is the iWork and iLife apps which are doing a great job and for me better than anything equivalent on Androids. And I have to mention that all alternatives apps to iWork and iLife that exist on androids do offer iOS versions which tend to be better made with better features than their android counterparts.

iCloud is also a big thing. Creating a movie on my iPad and it’s already there on my iPhone seamlessly. And yes iOS is great because it does almost everything without any clutter. The main reason I failed to like Android despite’s having tried it on several smartphones and even a tablet is how cluttered it is. And I still haven’t found a feature which would justify switching from iOS. In fact iOS in combination with better quality apps make iOS devices better choice and value than any android.

In my house we only buy Apple, just because we can. My 3 year old has an iPhone 7, just because she can. Peace

I guess it is also very important for you to have the newest fashion of clothing, right? Grow up, and learn to accept yourself.

Loyalty to a specific brand is true, either because of quality or the "attachment" developed thru the years. And sometimes trying other brands makes the loyalty even stronger especially if that other brand failed big time.
My daughter once tried to switch to S8 but came back to iPhone after just a month with tons of concerns. I then tried to use that but got back to my Mate 10 after a week because of camera issue.
