    Thuis camera battling is funny.
Even a Nikon, Cannon, Sony Panasonic or Fujifilm for 150 bucks does a lot better photos than best camera phones out now like P30 pro or Nokia 9 pureview.
But they are used only for camera where phone is like a tiny computer.

IpsDisplay, 22 Jul 2019Lol you think Samsung's isocell is a threat to sony?? LolololololNot only I think.. I did a bit of research.. And found out that, the galaxy s series nd note series phones that uses exynos chipsets are all using isocell sensors, which is in most cases work better than snapdragon + sony combo. I also found out this, that samsung is the one that manufactures ISP for most manufacturers, even for sony. So i don't know why you just put lolololol there?

mack, 22 Jul 2019a sony phone? LMAO they still make those?sony sensor ... this is why when you got to school, don't just stood at the gate

Nick Tagataka, 22 Jul 2019If you're talking about the difference in array conversion ... moreI haven't seen any article that deeply compare RAW 12MP images. I highly doubt that there is a usable raw image that you can get for 12MP pixel-binned from 48MP sensor if it's not impossible to get. The way I understand RAW does not translate to a pixel-binned resolution, if their is, it's not proper representation. lol.

If you do have samples, you can give me those links in which RAW 12MP of each sensor shows something to be criticized?

Your understanding of both sensor were also inversed or only were true IF the Bayer filter were totally omitted for example:
                  1. Both sensors have 48MP photosites which can produce 48MP when the color filter were ignored. That's a fact.
                  2. On the Bayer filter level (used to conceive colors), both were configured to have 4:1 filter thus their default resolution is 12MP.
                  3. The 48MP on both sensors needs additional processing, rearranging the color matrix from 4:1, distributing them evenly as 48MP. Both 48MP photos of each sensor is NOT native 48MP but just an approximation of 48MP from 4:1 12MP Bayer sensor configuration.
                  4. Their only difference? Sony's sensor is much more superior than the GM1 in array conversion, refer to this simple explaination in this site: https://sparrowsnews.com/2019/01/07/difference-in-sony-imx586-vs-samsung-gm1-48mp-sensor-explained-by-honor-general-product-manager-xiong-junmin/

                  Observable justifications:
                  1. Both Sensors default to 12MP because their Bayer (Color) filter is arrange this way by default.
                  2. Sony's 48Mp array conversion were much more superior to GM1. That's why GM1's 48MP looked "interpolated" even though it has TRUE 48MP photosites (If you ignore the Bayer filter).
                  3. Again, both have 48MP photosites. Check their sites for documentation.

RAW won't give you true 12MP representation for comparison IF it's possible to get one. Pixel-binned 12MP does not translate well to RAW.

Again, both are 12MP colored, 48MP colored approximation, and TRUE 48MP photosites (Bayer filter ignored).

Every stabilisation method increase the speed so you can take photos even in a low light. DroidBoye, 22 Jul 2019The matrix conversion process differs. Sony is better, ISP ... moreIf you're talking about the difference in array conversion process to produce 48MP image then that's pointless, since GM1 doesn't support full resolution output at all, which means it's only meant to be used as 12MP sensor and 48MP images from this sensor are nothing but interpolated 12MP images. Only IMX586, GM2 and GW1 support this feature. Now if you compare binned 12MP RAW images from each sensor, do you see any difference in dynamic range, detail or SNR? If so then please drop the link to that comparison, because I couldn't find one when I Googled for it.

I just wish companies would spend more time making better software for their cameras. That's just as, if not more important than the megapixel count

What good is 64MP for if you don't pair it with good sensor and lens tech?? It's just marketing to boost some sells with "oooh 64mp camera and look at the price!" Kind of people

And yes, we need 512GB RAM because it will make our phones 1% faster than 6GB phone. Very significant difference
