25 July 2019
It's the latest device to be put through durability testing that involves scratching, burning, and trying to bend it.

All the Nokias tested were very rigid other than the Nokia 1 (because it is plastic and has a removable back) and the Nokia 9 PV (weak adhesive at the back). The rest prove Nokia's excellent durability, the 9 doesn't really do the brand justice.

The Nokia 7 was better being cheaper, so the money you spend is not proportional to the quality construction you get.

The cheaper materials and components asking for a premium price is what they do now... A bit of initial marketing and some hard brick model to then fool everyone with the rented brand.

The Nokia 7 plus was better built as shown in his durability test for it, perhaps the 6 sensors on the back somehow contribute to the structure being weaker? Or maybe it's that the back is glass instead of metal.

The underscreen fingerprint sensr is a big no-no. Being so shoddy as is and only get worse with scratches is worrying. My old Xiaomi Mi5 nailed fingerprint scans in a fraction of a second. For new phone to be this unreliable is a huge problem. Especially being one's flagship. And only that sort of had some issues was Galaxy 10 because of sonic fingerprint scanner, the rest seem to work just fine. So Nokia has a problem here and a big one if they can't fix it in software...

The phone passed JerryRigEverything durability test but losing the IP certifications because the back panels almost come off and there's also some issues with the fingerprint scaner after the screen got scratched.
Nokia phones usually are the most durable phone out there but i'm not impressed with Nokia 9 durability.

I didn't know Nokia 8 and 9 PureView could record in 4K on their front camera, interesting.
