I wouldn buy from Motorola again. Spent so much money on DEFY and dont get any recent upgrades.

The only 2 year old phone that still receiving ICS update is only HTC Desire HD! and it has bearly the same spec as SGS 1. Lower than that!
1ghz and 512mb of ram? Desire HD.
My phone a 1ghz Incredible S is receiving the update too. But have to wait till middle of the year. I can wait!

Almost everyone are disappointed of SE, LG, Sammy, HTC and Moto for slow updates, and for not updating all new models of 0 to 2 years of age.
Of course, everyone want's the newest upgrade at all times, but that's never going to happen with so many models and differences. Nor will it be possible hardware wise as Android really isn't as slim an OS like iOS and WP.
At least Moto, HTC and I think also Sony, has announced they will cut down on number of models in the time to come, so it will be easier to support them, and espescially to not spend months on each update 'cause of all of our annoying carriers and unnecessary involvement in this update process.
Anyone know why the carriers actually have any say at all about which Android version and bootlocking a phone should have? Apart from "carrier-designed" phones especially ordered from a single carrier. Carriers can in some cases block the whole update process and both demand our phones locked and no upgrade.
On the last update one decides to launch, every manufaturer should open the bootloader, and carriers should approve this. At least this way it's more easy to do as we want. We void the warranty anyways so it's our responsiblility, whatever we do.
Wish they would upgrade the Atrix for everyone, not just the US-model.For rooted user's it's no problem though.
Lucky for me I get ICS on my RAZR in Q2. It is technically ready now, just not in the eye of every single major carrier in Europe. . .

Defy is not getting an update. Even, Xperia handsets having lower specs are getting ICS. Unlocked bootloaders and no updates. I don't recommend Motorola anymore.

as expected defy+ is snubbed. Will hav to watch out for cm9.

Disappointed that Defy+ is excluded in ICS update. Other models that should also receive ICS is Milestone 2 and first Atrix. Thank God I had move on to other manufacturer.

i was a bit confused on which smartphone to buy between defy+ and xperia active..but now after this news..i wuld go with active, as it will be getting android 4.0 update..woot woot!
