KRM_DOTCOM, 17 Feb 2012 they said before that... WP will be better when WP7 is ou... moreWP7 has gotten better, especially after the Mango update. Tango will improve it further and, if the WP8 rumors are true, it will lift it up to the 'awesome' ranks, placing it right next to Android and iOS.

I am already very happy with mine, so, anything 'adding' can only make it better. The phone supports most of the things I would like to do and the most important apps have been released for the platform. Anything else, ... in time!

Do I feel the need to bash Android or iOS? No! If my WP7 device wouldn't have fit my needs and if the Samsung Galaxy Note's pricetags would have been lower, I might have gone with that. The iPhone 4(s) is simply not supported by my provider and too much of its apps require an internet connection / data plan (which I don't have).

Why not letting people enjoy the platform of their choice without bashing? Sure, tell us what is cool and good about the product of your choice but please, don't bother telling us how bad our phones are, we know better! We use them on a daily basis. :)

AnonD-1267, 16 Feb 2012Import/export contacts from sim card... WOW! Importing contacts from SIM was possible since the very first release of WP7.

What I would like to see, is, direct synchronization with Outlook as well as making Contact / Calendar synching over live.com optional - I really hate that I have to upload my contacts and appointments to my Hotmail account!

will it support 3G video call?
even the old Winmo 6.x variants are capable of performing 3G video call.
how come this so-called "new Winmo" doesn't support it?

                    strange, isn't it?
it seems like the technology is going backward...

To me this confirms that microsoft do have more control and a0is more accurate and sncere what they doing and that is great. I am proud owner of Nokia Lumia 800 and it is amazing.

Ruwin, 16 Feb 2012A low end or high end device is defined by the relation bet... moreI think you're right and wrong...

The problem with Winmo is not the technical specs - it's the software stifling the specs...

I don't think anyone would argue putting a minimum specification on an OS - that makes sense, it ensures a smooth experience...

                              BUT

Putting a MAXIMUM spec limit? i.e. not allowing dual core, enforcing lower screen resolutions, RAM, and so on - that's just crazy... that shows a distinct lack of the software's capabilities and a lack of vision on M$'s part...

I think the view of Android being 'laggy' etc is something that was true a year ago, but with the advent of dual cores, that is now a thing of the past... I personally think that Android needs dual core... and as for QUAD CORE - well - why not? Why limit vision and creativity? if it leads to dual-booting of phones, reduced battery drain, and stuff we haven't even thought of yet - then I'm all for it!

Why settle for just the minimum specs? Just the basics? It's this forward-thinking and futuristic vision that will keep Android ahead of the game - it's not afraid to try something new...

hi, 16 Feb 2012wp7 is fairly new still only had one major update 7.5 now c... moreI totally, totally agree with you here...

But this is my big problem with Windows OS...
                                (I remember having a Sony P800 / P900 and an HTC Tytan2 Windows phone!)

In those days, it was clunky Windows, but it was Windows and it was pretty powerful stuff..

This time around with Metro - they're STILL at least a year behind everyone else, between Winmo 7 and Winmo 7.5 - how long was it? A year at least? And during this time, the limitations of the OS were bordering on criminal... far too behind everyone else to be worthwhile...

For me, they're not moving fast enough, they're not looking at the market out there and their competitors and just seem content at working at their own pace...

If I were to move to another operating system from Android, it would definitely be Winmo, my worry is that iOS 5.1 is just around the corner, as is ICS / Jellybean and Winmo is still sorting out something like MMS...

It's too much of a step back for people after they've experienced any popular OS (Symbian included)

I think this is a good move from MS. Reaching the low end devices.
All those who r talking about features, specs and ranting that this cant be done, that cant be done with tango must understand one thing .... not all of them in the world are geeks and not all of them want those features and apps.
this will help in keeping the price low and target new markets.
