Sony's PS4 is the fastest console to reach 100 million units sold

It's been out for five years and seven months now, and 50 million of those were sold in the past three years.

      The current console generation is a complete and utter joke AND an absolute catastrophe.

      It has revolved more around re-re(-re-) releases, "HD upgrades". No really good games have been made purely for this generation, all engibes are old and even GTA was built for the previous gen.
      Also during the X1/PS4 era, we've seen the eruption of microtransactions sold for incomplete games/multiplayer games with a lifespan of a year. These are thought as normal facts of now, same as taxes and interest rates in the older times, they've been "accepted".

      I had a PS4 which broke out of thin air a month after 2 years warranty. I couldn't be happier. Now I finally built a computer which can do so much more except freeze in (PS) Store! No consoles, ever again. Gamepads maybe.

        I have had the xbox and the xbox elite and the xbox one x and all the PlayStations up to the latest Ps Ps4 Pro, I have to say Sony is at the top of my preferance, The Xbox one X couldn't download whist being in standby mode.

        Also The Xbox one X did not even come with a rechargeable controller and charging lea, Just 2 batteries which were disposable! Hardly environmentally friendly!

        As for 8K it's future proofing but I doubt will be adopted by many consumers for many years as having just bought my LG 4K panel I doubt I will just discard that for some prettier more vibrant detail!

          Sony did an "okay" job with the PS4, but they pretty much won this generation by default. The Xbox One was slower, more expensive, and had stupid DRM limitations initially. Nintendo's WiiU was, deservedly, a flop and the Nintendo Switch itself has flaws and launched much later.
          Even with Xbox limitations that should be no impedement for a console. The original Xbox was more powerful than the PS2 but the PS2 sold more. The Wii was even weaker than the other competition by a bigger gap but sold a lot as well. Consoles aren't about power entirely (it can help in the broader picture of features still) and rely on exclusives and content to create value. I'm not huge on the WiiU as they didn't deliver enough games for it but it seems like Nintendo actually knew what they was doing. The WiiU was clearly an experiment and first step towards the Swtich, which has gone on to sell a lot too so I wouldn't say the WiiU deserved to fail except where it lacked enough exciting and exclusive games (which is what actually caused the Xbox to fail). I was a huge Xbox fan but they stopped doing real exclusives and did 'on PC as well' and 'timed exclusive' so it lowered the value for me. I bought a PS4 and have games I can play only their.

          The Pro version of the PS4 would even have the problem you mentioned, it's markedly weaker than the Xbox Scorpio but power isn't everything so it didn't make a change. The only way I'd go back to Xbox is if they ramp up the exclusives (I play all the traditional gamer genre's like RPG's, FPS, Fighting games, action games and more). If they have more power and prettiness again but not enough to actually be only on their system then I won't buy it.

              Sony did an "okay" job with the PS4, but they pretty much won this generation by default. The Xbox One was slower, more expensive, and had stupid DRM limitations initially. Nintendo's WiiU was, deservedly, a flop and the Nintendo Switch itself has flaws and launched much later.

              But what Sony did after, was to get a decent "Pro" version a full-year before Microsoft, and a VR Headset, and more importantly they managed to churn out great Sony titles/exclusives.

              Where Microsoft wins is with the better Xbox One X, it's entertainment features, FreeSync and HDR support, better online play, and definitely their Backwards Compatibility. Which means the Xbox V could turn out to be the better console than the PS5, if Sony don't watch themselves.

              Hopefully, we will get a PS5 with better entertainment features, and Backwards Compatibility for PS1/2/3/4 titles... since, the hardware is powerful enough (Zen2 CPU). Otherwise, this could be an early victory for Microsoft.

                  My smart TV my Xperia Z3 my headphones all are working great. My PS2 worked great too until I sold it. I trust Sony for making really superb quality products.
